Hello guys how are you feeling today I hope your day is going well, today I will be taking part in an amazing contest organized by __ in the steem4nigeria community with the theme "The Present Confusion in My Country's Polity".
SHARE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE CURRENT SITUATION BY PLACING EMPHASIS ON CONCERNS ABOUT FUEL PRICING AND THE NAIRA REDESIGN POLICY.
Fuel being the greatest necessary evil in Nigeria and all the country in the world because our machines and vehicles can't do without it, be you a small business owner or you are operating in a large scale business you must one way or the other be in need of fuel.
But what happens when they one thing with the greatest level of demand in the whole country becomes too expensive for the citizens to be able to afford especially people running a small scale business.
The current situation in Nigeria today has reach an high climax because instead of things to be cheap rather it's becoming more and more expensive by the day making life to be difficult for the common man.
Still trying to cole with the high price of fuel now the government also again introduced another policy which is the Naira redesign policy, which has caused scarcity of the the total money in circulation all through the country which has made peoples life to be more and more difficult.
WHAT ARE THE RESULTANT EFFECTS OF THESE ISSUES IN YOUR AREA
In Nigeria today I'm not sure that we are still operating democracy because if we are still operating democracy the government would first of all seek the opinion of the people before taking any rational decisions.
Because of the upcoming general election the only focus of government now is on politics and power disregarding the affairs of the nation and the well being of the people, and trust me that if I want to stress out the effects of this issues on our daily lives I'm not sure the steemit platform alone can contain it(hyperbole)
And some of the effects of these issues in my area are;
•Increase in starvation and hunger
•Shorting down of so many business
•High cost of living
•High stress in carrying out simple task eg, transportation
•Increase in criminal rate as some youth has resorted to stealing
•Death of the old and weak ones
DO YOU THINK THE COUNTRY'S PRESENT SITUATION WAS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED DUE TO THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS OR TARGETED AT ANYONE?
Yes I think this present situation is due to the upcoming general election and also to target politicians.
And come to think of it how can someone just wake up one day and decide to change and redesign a countries currency which was a legal tender that was generally accepted all round the nation.
No doubt about what there were trying to do, because they wanted the upcoming general election to be free and fair so that some politicians would not be able to buy votes and claim political powers with the help of their money rather that it should be the choice of the people.
DO YOU HAVE A BETTER SOLUTION TO THESE ISSUES AND POSSIBLE WAYS TO HELP ALLEVIATE THE SUFFERINGS OBSERVED AROUND YOU?
Since in Nigeria today everything is all about politics and power just like game of thrones, so the only possible solution which I think could help solve the present situation that we are facing today is.
Nigeria should adopt a system where by the ruling party won't be included in the next election you are confused but don't worry I will explain, for example in Nigeria the president is in PDP and has rule for 8 years now so this upcoming general election the president party PDP would be excluded
That is INEC would not register a candidate from the ruling party so as to give they other candidates from other parties the equal chance to be able to win because if a candidate from the ruling party is being accepted by INEC there will use government money, power and influence to dominate other candidates there by making election to be more competitive and deadly as it is in Nigeria today.
And another solution which I think could be very helpful in other to alleviate some of this problems is, government should raise the ban on the used of the old naira notes until the newly redesign naira notes are fully circulated all round the country
CONCLUSION
Suffering, tears and hunger all round the country and a lot of businesses short down due to the rash decision made by our government, but if only there could put themselves in our shoes for at least a day, there would understand what it feels like to starve, that's the end of my post I hope you all enjoyed reading it thank you.
