Hello guys and welcome to my blog, today's contest which I will be taking part is organized by @josepha in the steem4nigeria community with the theme "The level of absence of rights in my country".

INTRODUCTION

In every country be it military 🪖 or Democratic nation has a defined rules which must be followed in the constitution and also some certain rights which are to be given to the citizens.

HOW IS THE LEVEL OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN YOUR PLACE?

In my country Nigeria, the current level of human rights is very low and poor in the sense that it is only the rich and the wealthy citizens that are enjoying their full human rights while the poor are treated like trash and being deprived off their rights.

And government thinks that there could just buy us off our right with their money and depriving us from our basic and necessary needs in other to survive all in the name of politics which has deprived us from our fundamental human rights as citizens.

A nation where the total well being of the citizens are being disregarded by the government is not a nation rather it's a social media, because our government has turned political powers around in other to favor only them and their families alone.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY ENJOYING YOUR FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS AS A CITIZEN OF YOUR COUNTRY? TELL US HOW YOU'VE BEEN ENJOYING IT.

Sincerely speaking we Nigerians have been enjoying some of our fundamental human rights like right to life, right to freedom of movement etc but even this right to freedom of movement there are some certain limitations like you can not just wake up one day and decide to travel to the north we all know that it's very risky and it's suicide.

Other rights like right to freedom of worship we Nigerians knows that a lot of Muslims has been attacking so many of our christian brothers and another right which I will also like to talk about is the right to vote and be voted for.

In a democratic nation like Nigeria the right to vote and be voted for is a necessary right for all citizens to be able to choose who their leader would be, but a situation where the citizens are being attack in the election ground has automatically abused such a right.

So you see that if I want to list them all it will take all day just like the "right to assembly" in which the national assembly should be making and passing laws that will favor the citizens instead there will be in there and making laws that will only favor them alone just like the idea of redesigning naira notes which has greatly affected the well being and survival of all the citizens in Nigeria.

DO YOU HAVE A STORY WHERE YOUR RIGHTS WERE TRAMPLED?

Yeah I have seen so many people who got their rights tremble many times some time ago a lot of Nigerian youth protested and beg the government to end police brutality, a particular group of police officers known as SARS has been going around harassing and brutalizing the innocent citizens.

For some reasons no one knew about till it became too much that absolutely no one did something about, there treated people like trash 🗑️ as if we were in the military regime the beat up any one even in the street or in the market.

There tremble on people's fundamental human rights such as right to life, freedom of movement, speech 💬 etc.

Thank you all for reading my post I really do appreciate your time and I will like to invite @anthony002 @ajay27 @edidiongeffiong @ngoenyi @steemkidss @sofian88

Es triste cuando países con tanto talento y calidad humana, tienen niveles bajos en derechos humanos violados flagrantemente por quienes deberían defenderlos. Excelente participación. Saludos cordiales!!
