What were you told Steemit is, an online business, a social media or a writing platform?
Hello friends, It's so nice to be here today to participate in this contest, I hope you all are doing great.

Before joining, what were you told about Steemit that moved you to join the platform?
I joined Steemit in march, 2022 before joining I was told it was an online platform where users were paid for the content they created I was so impressed and motivated to join because I love writing articles, reading newspapers, and chatting online.
And I did it all for fun, immediately I did my research through Google and got more information about Steemit and the most interesting aspect is that no registration fee was required, so I joined it, and found that it's genuine.
What do you tell others Steemit is? And are you convinced Steemit won't wrap up like other online businesses someday?
In Nigeria, many online businesses were by their sole interest is high. Profit making but Steemit is not like that steemit wouldn't wrap up like most online businesses because it's a decentralized blockchain with a very strong security network that can't easily be hacked by scammers.
No individual is in charge every Steemit user has a different password for logging and making transactions from their wallet.
Other online businesses are centralized organizations and most of them are created by Yahoo boys just to scam people the moment people invest on the platform after a while it will wrap up all in the name of being scratched.
Is Steemit an online business? If yes, what similarities and differences are there between Steemit and other platforms? If no, give reasons, similarities, and differences from another platform
From my point of view steemit is not an online business it's more of online job (work) hustling. What I understand by the word business is the process of buying and selling to make a profit and it must involve money, as a steemian I have never given anybody money to vote for me.
No money involved you get your reward based on the quality and originality of the post creates no plagiarism which seems to be strenuous to achieve so steem is an online work, not a business.
All the individual needs are to be hard working because it's not easy to make a quality post on Steemit.
The similarities between Steemit and other platforms are as follows:

• Both require data to function

• Steemit is a decentralized blockchain while most online businesses are centralized.
• Steemit does. not require a registration fee while in other online businesses, the user must register.
State 3 similarities and differences between Steemit and any social media platform of your choice
Similarities between Steemit and Facebook.
Both are online platforms that connect users all over the world through chatting, posting of articles, etc.
Bot platforms allow users to share information that encourages business through advertisement, I remember last month I posted my business product on Facebook and wrote an article about the product and posted it in the Steemit entrepreneur community.
Both are operated online which requires data and a good smartphone to enable its users to work successfully.
Difference between Steemit and Facebook
Steemit rewards its users based on the content they create especially genuine and original articles.
Steemit is a decentralized blockchain that can be difficult to hack, while my Facebook account has been hacked three times.
Steemit blockchain has a very strong security network with a unique ecosystem. that rewards its users with SBD that is used to buy steem coins which can be converted to money (cash).
In summary, Steemit platform is a decentralized blockchain that rewards its users with SBD that is used to buy steem coins its users write an article called content that is posted within the sub-unit or department called community and the various Steemians in the community vote the post am so glad to be a steemian because the platform is educative.
