A Letter About My Profession.

Good evening my great Steemians. How was your day's activities and loved ones? You all are bubbling, I'm very sure. I welcome you all to my tutorial. Our class today will be on a special topic from my profession. Before I continue, I will give you a brief history of who your lecturer for today is. Sit back and enjoy my lesson.

A BRIEF OF WHO I AM

Speaking to you is Onwuamaegbu, Uju Queensley. A graduate of English and Literary Studies from then Anambra State University (ANSU) but now Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State (OOU).
Uju is a seventh child and third daughter in a family of nine.

She was born by an Anambra State Father but got married to a handsome man from Imo State so, she can now be proud to be referred to as an Imo State woman ( Ogwa, Mbaitoli LGA). A loving mother of four cuties.
She is a qualified To because after her degree she added a PGDE to it and has gone further to take the Teacher's Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) examination to be a certified Teacher.
Uju is currently working with Bethel Seminary Umudibia, Nekede, Imo State where she resides with her family.
I also engage in catering services which is one of her hobbies (cooking).

WHAT WILL I LIKE TO TEACH YOU

I love to impact knowledge. I am an adventurous person for that I love to learn new things and also teach it to another so, for the sake of this contest, we will be looking at LEARNERS IN THE EDUCATION SECTION.

In the world of today especially, the classroom, we come across different Learners( pupils/ students/ children) and we wonder what actually happens to then when the behave or misbehave during learning. This is because of who and the type of a learner that he/ she is be or is trying to showcase. As I continue, please stay tuned and attentive.

Who is a Learner? - According to Oxford English Dictionary, a learner is one who's finding out about a subject or how to do new thing. I can explain a Learner to hear person or group of people that are in school or outside the four walls of school but have the zeal to acquire knowledge. So, learning doesn't just start or end, being in a school. But in the post, we are basing our lesson on classroom learning.

Types of Learners

We have two types of Learners...

• Adult Learners: these a matured people who maybe combining school and work/ business. These people are mostly found in Tertiary Institutions. But few engage in adult educations ( primary/secondary).

• Children Learners: these are be people under the control of his/her parents. These people still need to be guilded and monitored.

How Do Children Learn?

When a child is born, his/her brain is as plain as a sheet of paper or a plain sheet. It's what the environment, family inculcate in theen brain that they begin to display. Therefore, the Child learn by ...

1. Observation:
   Children are fast Learners, whatever adults do/ act they observe and exhibit later on.
2. Imitation: whatever is being displayed before them, they watch, hears or speak, the will imitate. That is why it is good to watch the environment and actions around children. They need a very good and conducive environment to grow and be exceptional.
3. Questioning: children ask so many questions. They are too inquisitive and knowledgeable so, you should try as adults to provide adequate answers to their questions.

TYPES OF CHILDREN

Every child is unique and cute in his it her own way. Even when a twin is born, they can never be the same. They have their traits and finger prints.
As a Teacher, I have to identify the type of child/Children I am teaching. This will determine how I teach him or her. In other words, the teaching technique/ skill determines the type of learner before you. This will help us the teacher so much. Therefore, we have various types of Learners-:

❣️ Extroverts: these are the active and agile Learners. The talk most times and they tends to dominate the class. It's on ye teacher to control them if not, all attention will be on him/ her.

❣️ Introverts: they are the opposite of the former.thry keep to themselves because of their shyness and timidity. Hardly do they answer questions in the class even when they know the correct answer. To encourage them, the Teacher will have to call on them for answers during classes. Ant it's will be best if the teacher make friends with them. This will make them ease-off during lessons.

❣️ Bullies: these type of Learners bully, disturb, harass everybody in the class. They maybe big in size, intelligent, older or strong compare to other learners in the class. Even the rich bully the poor and these goes on. The teacher must be clever to protect the lesser ones and devise a means to make them equal. Also punish them when need be..

❣️ Inattentive: these ones are playful all the time. They can be sleeping, eating, discussing, while the lesson is on. They tend to be mischievous all the time. For the teacher to get his/her attention, the Child must be made to sit directly to the teacher. That way he/ she's attention will be captured. And a better teaching method and skill to help them.

❣️ Slow Learners: they hardly understand the teacher's lesson at once. They need all the attention and concentration to get the lesson. They need to be close to the teacher to concentrate better. The Teacher gives enough examples for their sake.

❣️ Fast Learners: they are the opposite of the former. very clever and absorbs the lesson at once. They are always ahead of others. The Teacher needs to calm him/her down by using group method of teaching, that way, the slow and average Learners learn from him/ her.

❣️ Lazy Learners: these group of people like to dodge lessons and class works. They hardly do their homeworks and assignments because they always pretend to be sick/ I'll. The Teacher needs to draw them close and counsel them on the need to be serious with school works. They need to corporate inorder to excel.

❣️Late Comers: the always come to school late due to circumstances. But some of them don't have any reason being late just that they don't take their chores seriously. The teacher should find out why this happens and counsel them.

❣️ The Truants: these people hardly stay in class. They keep loitering around the school premises till school over. They always have reasons for being outside. The the should also find out if they have any issue do they can be tackled. They need to know the essence of being in school.

❣️ The untidy: the appear to be dirty and unkept all the time. It maybydue to poor background or lack of care. They should be taught the act of cleanliness. Even when it's one school uniform they have, it Shou to kept clean and neat. Their parents/ guardian should be appealed to for proper solution. Etc.

We will have to stop these here.

WHY THIS LESSON IS NECESSARY

I see student/ pupils always and their attitudes are absurd atimes. Not to talk of the children we have at home. I think of the need to know who and what your child/ ward or another child is before you begin to condemn him/her. We come across different display in the classroom and even outside the school setting. It's of good intents if you know your child/wards capability before you draw your conclusion than know how to help him or her to attain a geater height. The parents/guardians you need know in what area to focus more in the growth and development of their child/ward.

HOW TECHNOLOGY HAS AFFECTED MY FIELD

Technology has affected my field a great deal. At the out break of covid-19 , in 2020, teaching/ learning was made easy and accessible for the sake meeting up with curriculum. Till date, Learners make research through the internet for further learning .

In same vain, we can do an e-conferense. Assignments and homeworks are now easy to tackle and more. E- library, etc.

Unfortunately, internet and other technological inventions are gradually taking over the Teacher's position. But it's a joyful this a Teacher as they with.
