I am very delighted to be part of this contest titled: unquenchable Desires: The Allure Of Greed. Greed and ambition is a part of our life and journey as humans, It is something that is happening in our society and environment too. So I urge you to read my post line by line, and I assure you that you'll definitely learn one or two things from this post. It's going to be an amazing read🤗🤗

Knowing what Greed is all about, what do you think is the difference between ambition and greed?

INTRODUCTION:

Greed in simple terms can be referred to as a selfish desire, or a continually extreme desire for something, it could be money, power, authority etc. A gready person will always want everything for himself, no matter how much he has it, he still won't be contented with what he has. Greed can also be seen as extreme desire or urge to get more than what one needs or desires and mostly this happen with material things.

Therefore the differences between ambition and greed are as follows:

1. Ambition is a strong desire and determination that a person has in order to achieve success. Whereas Greed in the other hand is that extreme urge, or desire that a person has for something especially money, food, power etc.

2. Ambition is usually associated with positive impacts in ones life, and it's not destructive. But Greed is often associated with negative impacts, and it's usually selfish and destructive.

3. Ambition being a desire to achieve success can be satisfied. While Greed which is a selfish desire can not be satisfied.

4. Ambition encourages handwork and not laziness. But Greed in the other hand motivate one not to be hard working which is very dangerous.

In conclusion: Ambition is the desire for success and achievement through determination and hardwork etc. While Greed in the other hand is a selfish and extreme desire for something even if it's in the expense of others well-being.

Can greed ever be a positive force, or is it always destructive?

Greed has never been, can never be, and will never be a positive force. Even in the Bible God so much dislike and talked against agreediness and greedy people. Greed is also among the deadly sins, cause greed can leads to alot of destruction to someone's life, or even the greedy person himself.

Greed being a selfish or extreme desire for something even if it's in the expense of others. Can lead to destruction, cause a gready person wouldn't mind taking someone's life just to get what he/she wants or desires so badly. Therefore greed is a negative force and is always destructive.

How does greed affect relationships and trust among people?

Greed can affect relationship and trust among people in differs ways, below are some of the ways that greed can affect relationships and trust among people.

1. Greedy people often don't have empathy for others, the care less or are not bothered about how others feel, so it affects relationship with others alot because care and concern is one of the ingredients for a better and a healthy relationship.

2. Greed is associated with manipulation, therefore the greedy people will always manipulate things just to get what they want. So it affects the trust in a relationship because when you're manipulated by a friend and you get to know about it, you will no longer trust the person anymore. Greed tempers with trust in relationships alot.

3. There's no limit for desiring for material things. Greedy people can go to any lent and they Cross boundaries in relationships alot just to acquire what they think they need, they can even compromise moral values just to achieve their goals. Any relationship that the boundaries is constantly crossed won't last and is usually affected negatively...

Do you think greed is a natural human instinct, or is it something that is learned?

Yes, I think greed is one of the natural human instincts, it's an emotion that has long been one of the driving force behind most of the events in our life, both the good and bad.

Human are greedy in nature because they are always in search of many things in life. So it's just a nature that we can't deny. But then the excessive and selfish desire for something's is actually what made it bad and destructive. But desiring for something or wishing to get something it not bad itself.
Therefore, greed is a natural instinct in every human.

Have you ever witnessed or experienced the negative effects of greed in your own life?

Nope, so far so good in my own personal life I haven't witnessed or experienced the negative effect of greed in my life yet. But then that doesn't mean that I might not, or will not experience it in the coming future.

In summary: To be ambitious, that's desiring to acquire or achieve success in life is totally not wry, but then when the desire is extreme it can make you do things which you're not supposed to, being too ambitious is bad. Also, talking about greed, it's normal to desire to get something in life, or have what is best, but the moment it becomes excessive and selfish it leads to destruction which makes it bad.
