What is your understanding of emotions?

Alright! I will be talking about my understanding of what Emotions is.

In my own understanding, emotions can be seen as a very short-lived feelings that come from a known cause.

Emotions are noticed through sudden physical body language. Emotions can also be expressed through facial expressions, such as smiling when you're feeling good or crying when you are in a bad mood.

Under emotions we have different types, this types of emotions include:

happiness: this type of emotions is displayed when someone is happy or feeling alright.

sadness: this is another type of emotions that can be quickly noticed when someone is not feeling okay.

One thing with this type of emotions is that it can be quickly noticed, you can hardly hide how you feel when you are sad.

Fear is another type of emotions, fear is a feeling that comes to a person when you're feeling unsafe about a situation or an environment.

Surprise as a type of emotions is seen as a feeling that is expressed when a person hear a sudden news or see an unexpected action from a person. Surprise is simply a feeling of excitement or amazement.

The last type of emotions I will be talking on is anger, anger is a feeling that is displayed when someone do something that you are not happy with. Anger usually show itself when you're upset about something or someone.

Emotions in summary is a feeling that is expressed about how ones feel, it can either be a negative or positive feeling. It depends on the circumstance or the situation at which you find yourself.

Have you ever had emotions that made you lose yourself? tell us about it.

To be honest with this question, I have never had any emotions that made me lose myself as a person.

But I have learnt from friends and family that there are emotional feelings that one can have to the extent of losing oneself.

There's one of my friends that have lost her parents at the same time , the same month and the same year. She felt so sad to the extent that she almost lost her mind.

She's acting so weird and was acting like someone that is going mentally unstable at that period.

She was the only child of her parents and losing them the same day, month and year makes her feel really sad.

The family members had to take her to a psychiatrist doctor for immediate treatment. With the help of the doctor, my friend came back to her normal self.

This emotions that my friend went through that made her lose herself is a negative type of emotions which is called sadness.

Explain 5 ways to deal with emotions.

I will be briefing us on 5 ways to deal with emotions:

The first way to deal with emotions is to identify your feelings and what caused the feeling.

Research has it that you can't handle or deal with what you don't know. So identifying what your feeling is, is very vital in dealing with emotions.

Once you have successfully identified what your feeling is, and what made you feel that way, whether positive or negative emotion.

The next thing to do is to take action about the emotions i.e the feeling you are having at that moment.

Taking action simply means thinking about the best way to express your emotion. If you need to confront someone gently then go ahead and do it.

If it means talking things with a friend then why not doing that?

And there are times you can deal with an emotion simply by going for a run. But the action you will take should be based on your emotion ( Feelings).

There are emotions that the action you will need to take might simply just be hanging out with friends or going to watch a movie with friends, this action is mostly taken by people who are going through relationships heartbreak.

Thirdly getting help With ifficult emotions, is another unique way of dealing with emotions (Feeling). Sometimes no matter what you do, there are emotions that are too hard to be handled by yourself.

For instance if you have a feeling of sadness for some couple of days, week or months, then you may need help from a counselor, a trusted friend, or even a parent..

Ensuring you seek for help from someone you trust so well is another way of dealing with emotions.

There's an addage that says " a problem shared, is a problem halfed solve. So it means at some point when we're struggling with emotions and don't really know how to handle or deal with it, the best thing to do at that point is to share it with a trusted person.

Another amazing way to deal with emotions is building positive emotions Build positive. In dealing with emotions, you are to make it a habit to focus on what's good in your life — even the little things that might look as if it doesn't matter at all.

It could be the praise a teacher gave you for answering a question correctly, or how wonderful the breakfast you made for the family taste.

Being aware of the good things even when you're feeling sad or unhappy can help you change the emotional feelings from negative to positive.

And lastly, Accepting and knowing that all your emotions are natural and understandable is a great way to deal with emotions as well.

You shouldn't keep blaming yourself or judging yourself for the emotions you feel. Emotions are normal things to feel. They are natural!!

Accepting how you feel can help you deal with the emotions(feeling) you're currently going on and can also help you move on so easily, no matter how hard the emotions might be.

so don't be hard on yourself.

Do you think emotions could hinder someone from achieving their dreams?

Yes!!! On my own opinion I think emotions can hinder someone from achieving their dreams.

One of the reasons why I think emotions has great effect on ones life when it comes to achieving dreams is fear of the unknown.

Fear is an emotion that when someone has it, there are certain things in life that the person might not want to do. Things like taking of risk.

It takes someone who is not fearful to take risks in life. Going to school is also a risk that we take in life.

There are persons that will tell you that they don't want to go school because they're afraid that after their studies, the might be killed by witches and wizards that are unknown.

And won't be able to live their lives the way the want to after graduation, Or might not get well paying job after graduation.

So they will prefer staying uneducated and unreasonable just because of fear of the unknown.

You can see what fear as an emotion can cause right??

So how will one achieve his/ her dreams without being educated?...

So I'm on the opinion that emotions can hinder someone from achieving their dreams....

You really made this topic and insteresting one, you said it all, we should learn to control our emotions especially when we are sad, when we feel sad,It can make us do some harmful things.
Indeed emotions is dangerous especially feeling frustrated and sad.
