Fredrick lord lugard

Nigeria was colonized by the British empire in which Sir lord Fredrick lugard was the representative of queen Elizabeth in Nigeria , as at when Nigeria was colonized by Britain, On 1st January 1914 the British colony came with the idea of uniting the Northern Nigeria Protectorate and the Southern Nigeria Protectorate into the Colony and also a Protectorate of Nigeria. Before that period Nigeria divided was into Southern and Northern Protectorates and Lagos Colony. The southern region enjoyed more interaction economical and culturally with the British and other European countries.

Shortly after the world war ll which happened between 1939-1945, demands for independence rose around the middle of 20th century and Christian missionary brought western education to the protectorates but the idea strongly worked in the Southern than the northern protectorate because the Islamic tradition did not support the missionaries on establishing schools. Some Southern elite made good use of this opportunity brought by the missionaries to travel out of the country to study and to gain more knowledge academically.

In the year 1954 Nigeria got a degree of self rule from the British colonial master and on October 1st 1960 Nigeria got full independence from the British government. The differences in educational standard caused an imbalance of both the Southern and Northern protectorate continued after that period and it affected our political life.

Shortly after the independence Abubakar Tafawa Balewa became the prime minister of federation and Nnamdi Azikiwe was the first president of Nigeria from 1963-1966 and as at that time there was an imbalance in the government which lead to the first coup that came up in the year 1966 and this coup led to Yakubu Gowon to become the first military head of state with Lt col emeka ojukwu also heading the Eastern region.

Lt col emeka ojukwu declared an independent federation which led to the first civil war in 1967 and this war lasted for 30 month and after the war Nigeria discovered oil and started receiving huge revenue from oil which boosted the economy greatly and international community started patronizing us.

Another coup came up in July 1975 led by general shehu Musa yar'Adua in which the main plot of the coup is to replace Yakubu Gowon , after the coup general muritala Muhammad and general olusegun Obasanjo became the military head of state and Theophilus danjuma as the third in command and not quite long general muritala Muhammad was assassinated which made general olusegun Obasanjo the head of state and Theophilus danjuma the chief of army staff.

In 1977 the military regime handed over to democratic government and alhaji shehu shagari became the first democratic president from 1979 - 1983 and from 1984 till 1993 some coup came up and some high military personnel was eliminated and general olusegun Obasanjo again became a democratic president of Nigeria from 1999 till 2007 and Ibrahim Musa yar'Adua took over from for 2 years him which did not stay long in office and this gave good luck ebele Jonathan a chance of ruling for 6yrs before he was defeated by president Mohamed buhari GCFR who is still the current president of Nigeria.

Users are expected to analyze the current state of the country.

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

The current situation in Nigeria is not encouraging at all, our leaders have mismanaged our wealth which is leading us the way to bankruptcy, Nigeria has been a very great country but there so many diversity in ethnic and religion which is one of the factor that has brought set back to the country.

Taking about the economy of the country the economy of the nation is now more worse than how it was in the 1970s when oil was just discovered everyone was leaving fine and our currency had so much value in the international market, that made foreign exchange more profitable and everyone was enjoying but now the reverse is the case through bad and wasteful management of the fund of the country.

Going forward to the aspect of security in the country, for more than a decade now Nigeria have suffered poor security which has lead to lost of lives and property and scarcity of food in the nation because farmers can no longer go to the farm again in peace except they want to rest in peace meaning they might be attacked by gunmen. The issue of security has made a lot of international investors to flee from Nigeria because their business is not safe again so they had no choice than to leave the country for a place that has a good economy.

The last part I will be talking on the the aspect of infrastructure, this has been one of the main reasons Why we lost international investors because transporting their finished product has been a pressing issue on them and lack of good electricity and water supply, all this issues has made company to spend excessively before production can be made and this is really hitting hard on the final consumers of the products thereby causing inflation in the country.

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

Why do you think you will be suitable for the position of a president

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

With my experience and with what I have seen as a citizen of Nigeria I know and sure that I will be be able to respond to the immediate demand of the nation and make things fall in place with the help of God.

Personally I have my structure laid down already and how it will implemented and I also have believe in the fact that a sensible youth will be able to fix things in this country not those old men we call leader, I believe leadership is not by age, it's by what your knowledge , exposure and education. All the the three things mentioned are very important factor that makes an individual fit for the task ahead and am also a youth I mean a sensible one.

As we go I will highlights some problems affecting us as a nation and the way out of all these mess we've have kept ourselves, once again leadership is not by age is by what you carry and by what you are willing to offer, and a good leader must be ready to serve but the reverse is the case here we are the ones serving our leaders.

Identify the most pressing problems that you citizens are facing and try to proffer solutions to them

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

  • Security
  • Lack of jobs
  • Poor educational funding
  • Bad fund management

Security:

At the moment now, the most pressing issue we are facing right now is security in the nation, this has been the bone of contention for some years, so many lives and properties have been lost because of some recent attacks by gunmen and the government is doing nothing has been done to solve this pressing issues.

The reason for this solution is because it has been difficult to overcome this evildoers because they all have spy planted in the military and paramilitary, so it's difficult to lunch a sudden attack on the terrorist.

Preferred remedy

The best thing to do now since the military is polluted is to fund grass root policing with more money to buy good and sophisticated weapon and others instrument that can help the fight terror.
I gave this solution because this terror attacks mostly happens at the towns and villages and it's because there's no well equipment police barrack in our rural area and there's no concrete plan to stop them, we only depends on the military to stop them and before the military gets there, they've carry out their operation and vacate that location.

Lack of jobs:

This has been a Long pressing issue in Nigeria and nothing has been done to solve this problem for decades now, so many graduates are roaming around the street with no job, leaving a life that is not up to standard while the children of the rich and influential people get job easily without stress.

Preferred remedy.

The first solution is to make all private sector work well by providing all necessary things that will aid their production, things likes of good road, constant light and water and security. All of these will encourage so many people to come from the international community to invest in the nation's economy and by so doing so many people will be employed without depending on government jobs which are very less sufficient.

Secondly, if the government can give loans to small rising firm that are yet to be strong , they too will grow to become a large firm and also employ people.

My last point on creating jobs is that the government should try all her possible best to eradicate ghost workers and make all government officials have just one pin like BVN so that pin will be used to pay for each individual while am saying this is because some people still work In two three places why some people don't even have any job at all and again the government should be reduced retirement age to like 25yrs because most of the retired personnel don't enjoy worked for or even leave to enjoy the work they done due to the over staying in service , this is real causing most of them to nurse one or two sickness and die untimely. If the retirement age is reduced and adequate provisions are made for the retirees more people will get jobs .

Poor educational funding

Poor educational funding had caused a lot of havoc in our educational sector and this has brought is backwards in the global standard of education, far back as at the 1960 Nigerians received a great opportunity to study abroad for free and improve our self but those who got those free education then now became our leaders now but refused to funded education properly.

Our rooten educational system has made us have a lot of irresponsible people in our society and so many illiterates, thats why we are facing different types of crime everyday , we all know that crime is inevitable but It will be so reduced.

For instance now the government university in Nigeria are currently on strike for the past 3 month where by all academic activities are on hold and the government is doing nothing to end the strike, all they are after now is their political ambition.

Preferred remedy.

I will suggest that the government restructure the educational system from the primary level to the tertiary level and not using school feeding to campaign for us again.

Government should improve infrastructures in our schools and provide all necessary things that will aid smooth learning and finally increase the salary of teachers and lecturers because they are the bed rock of the nation.

Bad fund management.

Bad fund management has cost us a lost of havoc, what do I mean by this is that, our government spend on unnecessary project that will not benefits the countries economy.

Another way our fund is been mismanaged is that our law makers and top politician are Earning a lot of allowance that our country can not afford to pay.

Preferred remedy.

Firstly the monthly allowance of the top government officials should be reduced so that they will not feel too important that other citizens.

Our fund should be channelled infrastructure, security and improvement in educational technology and not projects that will not improve the economy.

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

Do you have any innovations you are bringing in?.

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

Yes!!

Firstly, I will like to bring More technology into the security system because with more tech in the security will help human effort to bring criminals down. Today in the advanced country they don't need to start hunting for someone before they get him or her because the have everybody's information already and their border is not a as porous as our own border that the collect bribes often.

Secondly, I will like the government to look into the case of education by restructuring our syllabus from primary to tertiary level, our syllabus are outdated already and it's now giving us the privilege to compete with the global community.
The technology in our schools should improve, for example improvement of attendance taken by student, teachers and lecturer.

Thirdly, I will like the government to focus on resurrecting all the dead companies that belongs to the government and they should encourage private organization to function more because this will drive the countries economy.

Lastly, I will also want to the government to legalize cryptocurrency fully in Nigeria, because cryptocurrency has a very bright future and I will not want Nigerians to be Left out.

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

CONCLUSION

IMG-20220311-WA0048.jpg

I will be concluding it this way that we still have hope as a nation and we can still be more great than before if we all as citizens have the right mind set , more of the countries that we look as advance today have fought the same problem in the past but they all stood to face the problem in united, therefore I Know Nigeria can be great again GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

I would like to invite @ojerindejoel, @bolaji001 and @kennydavebobo to participate in this contest.
