What do you think makes a marriage successful?

Love and care is what makes a marriage successful in life. When there is love and care in any relationship or marriage you will notice that there will be no issues or any problems in that marriage. The couples will always enjoy staying with each other.

Love conquers every old in a marriage. If for any reason there are any issues at all in the marriage, you will notice that love will help both parties to settle it amicably.

Care for each other is also important. When you always care and you are always available for each other when the need arises then that can make the marriage to last even more stronger.

Any marriage where there is love and care for each other, then that marriage will surely do well and the parties involved in such marriage will have a successful marriage at the end of everything.

How can couples improve communication in their marriage?

To improve communication in marriage what the couple needs to do is ensure that they are confined to themselves and they should be each other gossip mate. In marriages where the woman sees her husband as the best gist mate then communication would be a problem.

In a nutshell, the man and woman should enjoy sharing their joys, their pains, their worries, etc. When your partner is the best person you have to always share all of these with then you are already communicating seriously.

If you are not doing that already then you must learn to always talk to your partner. Your partner should not be a stranger to you he or she should be someone who can say everything about you.

Discuss the importance of trust in a marriage.

Trust in marriage is very important. If there is a lack of trust in marriage then the marriage won't last because that alone is a very big problem. So a marriage in which both partners trust each other can not easily be broken by mere gossip from outsiders.

In the same way, if there is no trust in the marriage, you will notice that the home or family will always have issues with one another. You will see fights and quarrels every day. The marriage may not stay longer than expected.

How do couples healthily navigate conflicts?

Understanding each other is the major way that a couple can effectively navigate through conflicts in this life. When both partners have an understanding of each other, you will notice that they won't have issues with each other, and even if they have they will want to resolve it in such a way that they won't hurt the other party.

So navigating conflicts means settling the conflicts amicably without any issues at all. So couples are supposed to sit down together and discuss the issue of concern and then fix it without any other person knowing about it. They will settle it in love knowing how it may affect the other party if more people get to know about their issues.

Do you consider the distance between spouses and cultural differences a problem in marriage? Why?

Yes, I think the distance between couples and cultural differences can be a major problem in marriage. In Nigeria where we have diverse cultures and languages, if you are far away from your spouse and you hear him or her speaking to another in a language you don't understand you will start feeling insecure.

Also, distance in any relationship can lead to distrust because not everyone will be able to keep himself or herself when they are part away from their partner. In cases where we have people on special operations such as journalists and the military who travel almost every time, you will notice that most go out and then get a girlfriend or boyfriend.

This will affect the marriage so much because the attention of the other partner will be divided. So trust issues will set in and the manner of communication will also reduce with time because of the distance and the cultural difference.
