Introduction

Wow,am very happy to be here with you guys in this community in this week's new contest,the community has really done a great work by carving out this very nice contest so as to help keep the community as active and also to help build the community.
In regarding to the topic,I will first like to drop some hints on the meaning civilization and also other things that are necessary.

What is civilization??

I can say in my own understanding that civilization can be defined as a process in which a group of people, community,nation come together to achieve higher and unique goals which will lead to the development of a state.

As we all know that civilization is really good and in sometimes has its negative effect on us all as some of our children can not speak their mother tongue,dont know there culture and other things.

What are some of the histories of your town before civilization??

Wow,this is really a good question as of in the olden days before the coming of the white men,there are many things that are done by my people and those things are the things which are used to identify or used to know them.like just mentioned in the contest post,there are many cultures that are been done by my people in the olden days but due to civilization,those cultures and norms are all wiped away,not I will share with you some of the things that are been done by my people in the olden days that are just fading away.

My town is called abia State which is located at the easthern part of our country nigeria,they are know as the people of great culture and now I will tell you some culture performed by my people which are fading away.

The masquerade dance:This is really a great culture performed by my people before the civilization or the coming of the white.in this culture,everyone is told to assemble at the village market square and at that venue drums arebeen beaten and some dances and rituals are been made.at the last the masquerade will dance and Chase people around.to say the truth,it was very fun then but now everything is just wiping away.

Moon stories:During those days before the civilization,the children are expected to come out to the market square or at the front of the community and the oldest man will tell them different kinds of stories and after the story, question are been thrown at kids and they are expected to answer correctly,but now,everyone is afraid of bad boys and therefore no one stays outside at night.

Our dear language:it is really a bad thing that our language is been wiped out slowly as everybody wants his or her child to only speak the language of a foreigner and therefore leaving our language, tradition and customs to perish.

Do the people of your town still keep some of the old practice

Yes,some of this things are been kept but nobody is asking about it only the famous ones like the new yam festival,some masquerade dance wears are been cared about,but others are all lost and I don't know if it was sold to foreigners or destroyed.

Things I missed about the old practice before civilization

I do really miss a lot of things because they are more interesting to me than any other thing and now I will make it clear to you some of the things I missed a lot.

Age grade festival:I do really miss this festival and although it is been done till now but it is not as interesting as it was in the olden days according to how my dad told me.he said in the oldeb days,this festival is been done in a very big way that people of other villages are been invited to our village so as to come and share in our joy.and it is strictly now for those who are up to the age of fifty years old.

The moon story:I do really miss this so much and I wish it will be done countless time this days.i really love to listen to stories because it is through there you can really learn things like history about your hometown and other things.

Do you prefer the changes civilization has brought or vice versa

To me I can equally say that I don't really like the changes brought to my home town but in the other way round it has its advantages and also disadvantage.
Because if not for civilization we all could have not gained the knowledge we have today and if we were not civilized there bad things happening now would not just be happening.
In Conclusion I can say that I prefer choosing vice versa,which means that the uncivilized time is not good and also the civilized time is not also good.
