What is your definition of "Giving"

For me, giving is the act of letting go of something or gifting something to someone who probably needs it more. Giving is a virtuous act, something people do out of compassion. Giving is a way of showing love, gratitude, and trust. Most times, when we give, we don't expect something in return. We do it out of the goodness of our hearts.

What should be the right motivation behind giving

I think there can be several right motives behind giving. One can give just because that person is compassionate. Compassion is powerful. When you see someone going through a tough period or who lacks something basic, you feel compassion towards that person, and a good way of expressing that compassion is by giving.

Individuals give to orphanages and donate to charity because they have compassion for the kids and individuals who are less privileged or have been subjected to the unfortunate realities of life.
Love is also a great motive behind giving. It's difficult to love somebody and not be willing to give when it comes to that person.

People in a relationship are always giving to each other. Friends that love each other carry out acts of giving. I believe giving reinforces bonds between people; it makes people even closer.

Do you believe in giving and publicizing the act. I.e sharing on social media

I don't believe in publicizing one's act of giving. The way I see it, if an act of giving is publicized, it shows that the act may not be genuine. It would appear as if that individual was just giving in order to look good in front of the cameras. It means that a person only gives when it benefits them.

Giving shouldn't have such a motive. Like I mentioned earlier, giving should come from the goodness of our hearts. We should give without making it obvious or announcing that we are giving. That's humility. Humility is a good virtue, which we should also have. It takes a lot of humility to give and not publicize it.

Mention some of the ways you think the act of giving should not be done

I think giving should not be done to degrade someone. It shouldn't be done to prove a point that that person is poor or lacking. That is a really bad reason to give. Giving should be done to help people and make life easier and better for them.
Giving should also not be done as an attempt to repair your public image. It portrays insincerity.
