Greetings. It's another beautiful week to give my neighborhood watch report and I am once again delighted to do so. I live in Port Harcourt and here is my report.

Weather report: Rain in December

It's not often one sees rainfall in the month of December. However, it rained heavily over here. December is characterized by dry weather. In fact, the harmattan usually comes in the December period. The status quo is changing as we see rainfall even in the December period. I remember that something similar happened in the month of December last year. There was a good amount of rainfall in that period. It even rained on Christmas day! How absurd is that?

Perhaps this says a lot regarding climate change. The whole weather thing is being messed up. Rain falls when it normally doesn't, and the sunny season occurs when it usually is not expected. Even the harmattan, which is usually a December thing, rarely comes in the thick of the month. Rather, it comes towards the end of December and into January of the next year.

Harvest season

In my neighborhood, a lot of people have farms around. There are bare lands with nothing but just crops planted by people. At different times in the year, people plant different kinds of crops on their farms. Some of the usual things planted are cassava, yam and maize. Some farms also have plantain trees, paw paw trees, banana trees and several other plants.

December is known to be the harvest period. I could see a lot of a lot of people harvesting one thing or another from their farms. I guess it's going to be a very bountiful celebration period for them. I can imagine how good it feels harvesting something they toiled all year to plant and nurture. Now, they don't have to spend money getting some of these basic food items as they already have them, especially now that the price of things on the market, particularly food items, has skyrocketed in shocking fashion.

Power Supply

The power supply during this period has continued to be impressive. It has become more stable than in previous times. From the reports I gather from those in the neighborhood, especially business owners, the constant power supply in the area has really helped boost their business. It has made their business run smoothly and with lesser cost.

They no longer have to spend ridiculous amount of money on petrol, which is very expensive these days. However, one obvious question persists in everyone's mind, "How long can the electricity company keep up the constant power supply?". Well, only time will tell.

That is my neighborhood watch report. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading.

I am inviting @radleking, @dave-hanny and @udyliciouz to participate
