What is your understanding of "make the world a better place"?

That statement means doing things and participating in activities that would help impact people's lives positively and make the environment better. Most times, we feel that one person can't change the world. But if everyone thinks that way, it becomes a problem.
If we all do our part, no matter how small, we can make the world a better place.

Making the world a better place involves a conscious effort on your own part to make life worth living for others.
It could be by stopping certain habits of yours or discouraging habits or acts of others that are detrimental to the environment or to the society. It also involves promoting or participating in acts that improve our ecosystem and economy.

In your own words, what are the various ways you think one can utilize to make the world a better place: showing love, charity, projects, and so on?

Taking care of the environment

Everyone stays in an environment, and if our environment is negatively impacted, it would affect us negatively too. This is why our environment has to be protected by us.

One way we can do this is by reducing our dependence on sources of fuel that are harmful to the environment like fossil fuels. Use of these harmful fuels increase carbon emission I to the atmosphere which depletes the ozone layer, thereby exposing us to the harmful rays of the sun.

Furthermore, these emissions have led to drastic climate changes over the years. These changes have now become devastating. When the weather is hot, it becomes unbearably hot that it becomes a serious issue. Sometimes we even see widespread wild fires come up and destroy properties.
When it's snowing or cold, it gets worse to the point that people can't travel because the roads covered with ice or heavy snow. People even freeze outside. When it rains, it rains to the point where flooding becomes the order of the day. Those are just few examples of the devastating effect of climate change.

You can help reduce these emissions by using a bicycle once in a while to move around, taking public transport, using an electric vehicle instead of those that depend on petroleum, using renewable sources of energy like solar energy to power your home.

Also, try as much as you can to conserve power, because most times, the process of generating this power, causes harm to the environment.

Plant more trees and prevent or discourage excessive cutting of trees without replacement.
Practice more of recycling. Compost your waste. Don't litter and do not dispose waste in the ocean. All of these will help to make our environment a better place to live.

Volunteering

Another way you can make the world a better place is by volunteering. You can do good and help people with your skill, expertise and time. You could help out in health outreaches, especially in rural areas. You could also help deliver aids to those who need them.

Do your civic duties

Carrying out your civic duties like voting in elections is a way of making the world a better place. Bad leaders make bad decisions and policies that affect thousands, if not millions in your country. You have to make your choice and elect credible leaders who will make life better for the people. Also, engage these leaders, hold them to their words, this will keep them on their feet and make them continue to do their job adequately.

Charity donations

There are those who don't have much. You can help people by donating some things you have or aren't making use of. You could donate money to charities and even food.
People in war torn regions who have been displaced can benefit greatly from these donations.

Have you pioneered a project before in the quest to make the world a better place? Tell us about it

Yes I have. I pioneered an environmental clean up in my vicinity. The drainages were blocked, and as a result, there was heavy flooding whenever it rained. I mobilized people who joined me in clearing these drainages. We properly disposed the plastics and trash that blocked those drainages.

We went further to educate people around that littering is detrimental to the environment, and not properly disposing their waste, especially the ones that are not biodegradable, could lead to blockage of those drainages, making everyone suffer the effects of flooding.

Do you have other plans for facilitating anything that would make the world a better place? We'd like to hear from you

Yes. I have plans to create a charity program where individuals would make free will donations. These donations would then be given to several orphanages. The donations could be money, clothes, toys, food or anything.

The kids in these orphanages need our help, the people taking care of those kids in the orphanages need all the support they can get. These donations make the world a better place for those innocent kids.

Conclusion

We all can make the world a better place by the little things we do both individually and collectively. Don't wait for anyone, be conscious about helping others and helping the environment. The world will definitely be a better place because of it.
