This is indeed a wonderful topic. I'm excited to participate.

What do you understand by the word "AGE GAP" and when can we say there is one in a relationship

In my understanding, age gap in this context is the significant difference in age between two persons in a relationship. It could be that the man's age is more than the woman's age or vice versa.
In my opinion, there is an age gap when one partner is 6 years older than the other.

Do you think Age Gap is a problem in a relationship?

Yes, I do think the age gap is a problem in relationships. Two people in a relationship ought to be friends. They ought to be the best of friends. One thing that facilitates this friendship is when they are within the same age bracket. They will have the same ideology, they will be able to relate to each other more and they will understand each other better. None of them will see the other as too big or too small.

When there is an age gap in a relationship, it could present as a barrier to how both partners relate to each other. That fondness may not really be there. It is important to note, however, that this is not always the case.

Does the Age gap really have a way of affecting relationships? Explain and give some examples

Yes, the age gap affects relationships in certain ways. For example, a wife may want to share jokes and play with her husband, but if her husband is way older, he may not really relate with the joke, maybe because he was born in a different generation that had a separate ideology from hers.

Sometimes, it is believed that the older partner could be excessively controlling of the other partner. There could also be difficulty understanding each other.

Is there any age you are not comfortable with? If your partner has such a gap above you

While different people have their preferences, I'm not comfortable with an age gap of 6 years and above. I wouldn't want to have a partner who is older than me by 6 years or more.

What should be the normal age gap in a relationship?

I think the normal age gap should be 5 years and below. That way, the partners won't be so wide apart in terms of age, ideology, thinking. This age gap allows partners to relate as equals. One would see the other as some elder. The partners can easily become best friends.

Conclusion

The age gap is something that should be looked into before going into a relationship. People should ask themselves if they are comfortable with the age gap before jumping into a serious relationship.

Great post.
Goid job.

You have made a good entry here based on your preference.
But for me I think no matter the age bracket, if there is mutual understanding, it's never a problem.
Age doesn't stop from being friends if they want to.

Meanwhile, before they get into the relationship, no matter their age bracket, they have to accept to come down to each others level and relate at that level.

There are disadvantages of a big gap in a relationship. Just as you've said, the older partner may want to excessively control the younger.

In all, go for what works for you.

The age gap is something that should be looked into before going into a relationship.

Well, I see no problem with age gap in a relationship, so far as you’re happy in the relationship nothing else matters.

Nice writeup. You've made a striking point "Two people in a relationship ought to be best friends..."
