My Neighborhood Watch #51 - Reporting Events Around us

Greetings friends, I am gradually feeling better, I believe you are good too.

At lot are happening especially in my nation Nigeria, I seek for the better and I believe it is emerging, as this contest persist I hope to drop more meaning entry as it transpires within me.

What could cause an empty classroom?, in most cases only a vacation can cause this, or a fee drive but how it is not possible that all the members of a class will be driven out for failure to pay school fee, the case here is different and what you should understand is that schools are operating at the moment and there is no vacation, What has lead to an empty classroom is the labour strike, this news spread all over the media, the NTA broadcasting network, local newspapers and on the internet within Nigeria. A few days ago this union that engolves almost all sectors decided to embark on a nation wide strike. This strike lead to the closure of schools, and government offices operated by civil servant, as a matter of fact, no civil servant is entitled the right to go to work as the strike persist, but if possible join in a move to protest, a peaceful one anyways.

I will ill aware of the fact that my school of which I was sent to carry out a primary assignment of teaching was government owned, so I reported as usual to the place only to see the class room was empty, the media had already helped the management in sending circulars to parents concerning the strike and by the inscription on the gate those who were not informed will be notified.

Why labour strike can never last for a week

Since I have come to maturity and able to discern, I don't think I have ever seen the labour strike last for weeks and I don't think the government can ever prove their superiority over the labour digress, it's a disgress on the sight of the government but to them it is for the betterment of civil servants in the country, come to think of it Nigeria is running an expensive democracy by paying a senator 30 million Naira monthly, some may not even be productive throughout their stay in the that position but here are civil servant suffering with a peanut from the government.

Why the strike?

For an increment in the salaries of civil servant, if the price of every commodity has increased and the salaries still remain dormant how will survival be possible, I support the strike and I wish better things come out from this movement.

Aso rock can never bear this, there should be constant and unfluctuating electricity in the Aso rock(i.e like the white house in America, this is where the president and his subordinate live in Nigeria), immediately NLC embarked on the strike the power holding company of Nigeria seize electricity supply from the Aso rock, banks were close, schools were closed, airport were locked, offices closed and many more. The government has to feel the weight of this strike, they have to run loses too, they need to be in the shoes of these fellows this time, it's funny but seriously plantains were planted at the secretariat to show the severity of this strike.

It's pitiful that even with this the government did not agree on something substantial, just 60,000 naira for minimum monthly wage. Sir @xkool24, I wonder if they want everyone to troop into politics just to be paid high.
