Anything used in excess can be harmful. Social media has been designed for pleasure, business, and other social activities. You will hardly find a single person today who is not on any social media; if it's not their personal account, then it's a professional account where they showcase their business or talent.
Some people have discovered the benefits of using social media and its purpose, while others have used social media platforms to intimidate others, live fake lives, bully people, engage in fraudulent acts, and commit other dirty acts.
Our daily lives should not be put up on social media to avoid falling into dangerous traps that are not meant for us. People live the life of a senator, car owner, business owner, good wife, and lovely home on social media, while in reality, their lives are a mess.
Others post fake pictures of themselves telling the world where they live and the kind of house they live in; meanwhile, they have never entered such a house in their lives. It is so sad to see what is happening on social media daily, and still others are yet to learn from it. Some parts of our lives should be private; everything shouldn't be publicized.

Well, some are lucky, while others are not. Let me do it because Lady A succeeded after doing hers, which may not favor me. Our luck differs, and so we shouldn't do something because others did or are doing it.
I have seen a case where my cousin lived the life she's not on social media, and her account was hacked because of the number of followers she had generated. I was done with her because she actually hustled for others to benefit.
I've heard a story of a man and his family who were kidnapped because his wife was always showing off on social media. I wonder how she became so forgetful to put up her home address along with a picture; that was how she implicated her family.
Some young ladies have been raped, violated, assaulted, and even killed due to social media. Doing something to impress others could be dangerous, and imitating another's lifestyle could also be dangerous. Let's be wise!

How can they all be true? Social media has gone from what it was programmed for to another realm. The most popular place to get fake news and information is on social media platforms.
People share a story of how they were involved in an accident and post a fake picture with account details attached, seeking funds for something they are not involved in or something that never happened to them. Others bring up a story telling how a celebrity died the previous week, while this celebrity is somewhere enjoying their lives.
Some fake news from government officials makes people fall victim to fraud. Usually on social media platforms, you see the government of Nigeria giving free medical checkups, palliative care, scholarships, or empowerment. Below, you will be told to click a link to get yours.
All these are lies. Before, I used to believe everything I saw or read on social media because I saw that platform as a place where everything was real and spelled out the way it was. Little did I know that it was all fake information.

Steemit is a safe social media platform that puts me in a relaxed state. I have noticed that 85% of users on this platform just mind their business; they hardly visit others blogs to check what's going on there. And one thing about this platform is that if you miss a user's post, you have missed it unless you go back to their blog.
Steemit is a platform where users are found in various countries, regions, and towns. In a town, you can only have 5–10 users where everyone stays far away from each other. There is safety on this platform, as far as I'm concerned.
I can post and write about any life story that I choose without being worried about it. The only thing Steemit does for me is document my memories. I can come back here to laugh as I read one of my posts. I am glad I found a platform like Steemit; otherwise, I doubt the possibility of my being on other platforms.

Speaking about this fake news on government palliative and the rest of them.. I believe some of them government are aware of them but people are now taking advantage of vulnerable citizens by creating their own fake site similar to the original site in order to defraud people..
