My Neighborhood Watch #64 - Reporting Events Around us
Mondays kickstart the resumption of corporate week. Offices open for official duties, people are out of their houses as early as 5am just to beat the early morning traffic and show up on time in the city I live in. But what happens to the economy of the country if bus drivers can't have access to the much needed fuel to ferry people to and from their daily business activities
This is the current situation in my area as you can see from the picture.
I came out to board a vehicle and the price had been increased and when I asked the driver why, he asked me if I wasn't seeing first of all the queue at the petrol station beside us and second the fact that they weren't even selling petrol to anyone not minding the huge crowd of both people and cars that were gathered out side their locked gate.
This doesn't make the sale of the petrol -if they'll even get any cheaper as 1 litre of petrol now goes for 5. something steem
You can see people standing with their gallons on the road in this hot sun hoping they will be able to buy petrol, even if it takes them the whole day. Imagine the level of productivity this will be reducing as someone standing here all day would have utilised their time to do other more productive things.
Did I even hear that it's now illegal to buy petrol with a gallon??
I didn't have a choice as I needed to get to my destination so I paid the extra fare only to be stuck in traffic due to the long line up of cars that were parked waiting to buy fuel.
In a country that produces the raw material for petrol and even has state of the art refineries, this situation is saddening to note. The question on the common man's lips now is WHAT IS GOING GO??
