Contest Alert: My Neighborhood Watch #13 - Reporting Events Around Us

Greetings

Hello fellow steemians,I dedicate my salutations to all in this noble platform,I am also grateful to participate in this contest in this noble community,I also believe that my humble ideas and views will make great impact.
This contest is indeed an awesome and applauding one which gives room for individuals to share their thoughts on things happening around their vicinity,and this triggered me to be a participant in it.in this article I will specifically report the event happening in my environment.

REPORTS ON WEATHER CONDITIONS

Talking of weather conditions,it has been raining almost every day in Aba,Abia State.we have witnessed a couple of thunderstorms, lightening,wind and heavy rain which have,in some areas got properties like roofs of houses damaged due to its high rate and it usually happens in the late hours of the day.people now return from work and other activities early before their schedule time.

The rain affected the roads badly as we now have series of potholes filled with yellowish stagnant waters . mosquito and other insects breeds on these potholes,these insects disturbs inhabitants in my vicinity.the roads are so bad especially during the rainy days.usually,when it is raining the whole neighborhood will be filled with dirty water and people in the same neighborhood will bring out their stored refuse and start pouring it in the water causing a dirty watered environment.

Many who have cars have kept them in their houses, everybody now depends on their legs or bicycles for transportation due to the bad state of the road.though,we recently had a change in the government of Abia state but I think this part of the state has been forgotten and neglected, because the previous government done nothing about the situation of our bad roads.

REPORTS ON ECONOMIC SITUATIONS

The economic state of our this part of the country is disheartening and unbelievable .in recent times,we have faced many challenges,some of which I will give definite explanations.
Recently,the cost of fuel has ascending at a very high rate.this very problem has caused a stir in my neighborhood,as we have total blackout every night as no one puts on their generators due to the cost of fuel.

People prefer walking with their legs or bicycles than boarding taxis and tricycles for transportation.hunger also exist in my area and no one walks on the road around 10 pm and 11 pm, because there are a good number of hoodlums along the streets who can take your bags and nd money and run away and you can not identity them.

REPORTS ON DAILY ACTIVITIES

Talking of day to day activities,people go to work and other businesses, students go to school,as a result,75% of individuals leave this vicinity to other places for work and other things and this happens in the early hours of the day.in the evening,those who left for work finds their way back home.

Small scale businesses around this area does not seem to be working,there are no sales as a result of the high rate of inflation,poverty and low purchasing power by consumers.

CONCLUSION

The situation is very terrible,due to the economic situation of this area people can no longer sustain a meaningful means of livelihood to ensure their daily survival.the government of the day should urgently do something in order to avoid a major socio-economic disaster.
