I welcome you to my post today. It's a beautiful moment, and I am glad to have you here again. I hope you enjoyed my last article. If you have not read it, I encourage you to go do that now. In my previous article, I talked about "the secret to getting what you want." I opened your eyes to why you need growth and that it's only the platform you need to make the kings recognize you.

I have another wonderful lesson I want to share with you today. It's going to be eye-opening. I encourage you to read it to the last line, and if you get value from it, share it with your friends. That being said, I want you to find a good place to sit and enjoy this lesson.

Strategies for Making People Accept Your Offer of Help

One thing I have discovered about people who want to help others is that some of them always have the desire to do so but don't know how. Some people who know how may have the wrong approach to helping people. I have also discovered that sometimes some people may not want you to help them. In addition, timing is very important when you want to help people, especially those who do not want them to help you. I want to open your eyes to how to effectively help people.

Here are a few approaches you can use if you really want to help people.

Don't act like a boss if you want to help people.

One of the reasons why people don't accept your offer of help may be because you are always bossy. If they have seen you as someone who acts as a boss, they will not want to accept anything from you. The truth is, people don't want anyone to be their boss. If you want to help people and want them to let you, you will need to know how to relate to them. Don't act like a boss.

I have seen people act as if they were God because they wanted to help people. You don't need to do that. People will know if you are acting as a boss when you want to help them. In other words, don't stand as someone who wants to take glory because of the help you want to render. Help the people, and let God take the glory.

Present the solution to their problem with suggestions.

One of the ways people listen to advice and accept solutions to their problems is by presenting the solutions as suggestions. People rarely want anyone to decide for them. One of the powers God gives humans is choice. Everyone wants to make choices for themselves. Now, if you have a solution to a problem and you want them to accept it, don't lord it over them; rather, present it as a suggestion.

A story about a young lady was told. The husband of her mistress, who happens to be a warrior and commander of a nation, was a leper. This young lady was a slave in their house and was serving them with her whole heart. This young lady knew how the leprosy of her master could be cured. Then, one day, she went to her mistress and offered help. The way she presented the solution could not make her mistress reject her offer. She said, "Would my lord go to a place?" "There's a prophet who can heal his leprosy."

In the approach of this young lady, we can see how humble she was. Firstly, calling his master "lord" is a sign of humility. She didn't act like a boss when she wanted to offer a solution to her master's problem. Someone may say she was a slave now; she didn't have an option other than to still act as a servant. But I tell you, there are servants who would have acted as bosses when they had solutions. If you want to test a man's character, let him have a solution to a problem.

Let your presentation be burned out of sympathy.

If people will accept your offer to help them, you need to know how to present your solution with sympathy. When people are in trouble, they want people who will identify with them and who will put themselves in their shoes. They will want to know if you care first. People accept people who care for them, and once they know you care about their situation, they will accept your offer of a solution.

It's how you care, how you sympathize with people in their problems, that will determine whether they will listen to the solution you have for them. Learn to empathize first before you offer solutions. The story of the young lady I told you earlier is an example of how to sympathize with people in trouble. She would have sympathized with them and felt for his master because she had been living with them for a while. But one day, she came up with a solution.

Give a vivid description and explanation of the solution you have.

Some people's solutions are rejected because they have learned how to present their solution with clarity. If your solution is detailed enough, there's a high tendency that it will be accepted. People don't want to try things that won't work out. Nobody wants to waste resources, energy, or time on things that won't be useful or bring the result they want. So make sure you present your solution with details whenever you want to help people.

There's something with details. People like details and will want to venture into anything that they are clear about. Your solution is useless if it doesn't have a high percentage of clarity. Make it brief and clear.

If you are sure of your solution, make them believe it will work.

The reason most of us don't want to help is that we don't know if the solution we have is the real solution. We don't know if it will work. And nobody wants to do what will not work. So, I think it's better to keep your solution if you know it will help people. But if you have faith in your solution and you know it will work, then share it with them and make them believe it will work.

It's however important that when you are making them believe it will work, don't force it on them. Remember, you must present it not as a suggestion but as something they must believe. If you want people to believe in something, then you yourself must first believe in it, and it will reflect in your actions if you believe in it.
