It's a great day here. I hope it's the same on your end. I welcome you to my blog today. In my last post, I talked about "don't miss this blessing." I opened your eyes to the fact that a little gift may carry a very great blessing and that you should not look at it as if it's common. Remember I gave an example of some people who missed a blessing of $1000 just because they thought a loaf of bread was a small gift?
If you have not read the post, I implore you to go and read it. It's a lesson that everyone needs to learn. You will realize how important being patient is. Alright, that being said, I am here to share another important lesson with you. I do hope it will open your eyes to some realities you need to know.
Act fast
You may have heard that people say that it's good to always prepare for opportunities. That's actually right. Opportunities are like smoke; they can come and disappear within seconds. So it's always good to prepare for them.
When opportunity meets you unprepared, it's likely that you are going to miss it. So that's why you must always prepare for the opportunity you want. However, beyond preparation, there's something important you need to know: you need to act fast when an opportunity presents itself. This post will open your eyes to why it's important to act fast.
About three weeks ago, my brother and I attended a program. During the recession, a brother with whom we had been communicating for months discussed an opportunity. He told him that something opened, which can be a great thing if we both apply for it. He told him that he also learned about it from someone very close to him. He told my brother to apply for it as soon as possible. We also discussed some important things before moving on to the next aspect of the event.
In the evening of that day, we engaged in a lot of things, interacted with many people, and the leader of the event educated us in many things. It was getting late, and we didn't plan to stay over, so my brother and I went to tell the leader that we were going home. He thanked us for coming, and that's how we left for home that day.
Because it was already late before we got home, we could not do anything for that day again. My brother explained everything the guy told him very well. That day was a Saturday, and we still needed to prepare for Sunday service. My brother thought we could actually do what the guy told us the next day. That's how we retired to the bed and slept.
The next day, my brother tried to register for the opportunity this guy told us about, but the link was not working. We thought it may be the network. We kept trying, but we kept getting the same thing. It wasn't opening at all, and other websites were opening. My brother messaged the guy to let him know about our efforts in opening the site. The guy said, "Why didn't you register for it yesterday?" "I also registered that same thing yesterday, as I told you." We told him we were already tired when we got home, and that's why we didn't register yesterday.
We tried hard, but the website refused to open. After trying multiple times, we noticed that the link had been revoked. It was very painful because we needed the opportunity at the time. Our friend who shared the opportunity was selected. We met again last week, and he told us how he has been doing well with the program he applied to. It was then that we realized what we had missed.
The truth is, we had prepared enough for such opportunities. We had what it took to be selected for it. But we missed the opportunity because we didn't act fast. It's not enough to prepare for opportunities; you must also learn how to act fast when an opportunity surfaces.
In the end, people who act quickly and take advantage of the opportunity are those who will enjoy the benefit. If you keep preparing but fail to act, you may miss many opportunities.
There are some things that may not want you to act fast when an opportunity presents itself, but you must learn how to deal with them. For example, it was tiredness that stood as an obstacle for us, which made us miss that opportunity. Learn to deal with anything that may want to delay your acting fast when you are faced with opportunity.
Acting fast to take advantage of opportunity is the key to not missing it. If you don't want to miss opportunities, learn to act fast because opportunity will not wait for you. Once it's grabbed by many, you may not see it again.
