"It is Better To Be Late Than To Be The Late" by @mrquenn
Hello dear friends. How are you all? hope you are all well. Today I @mrquenn is here to take part in a contest held by @simonnwigwe where we are asked to write a story with the topic, "Better late than never". Hmm! When I read this topic, the first thing that came to my mind was the story of my childhood. I hope you enjoy reading My story.
The saying, “Better late than never” seems to have been running through our minds for a long time. This proverb has the power to always lift our spirits whenever we want, but sometimes it can be misleading by procrastinating the activities we are going to do. As happened to me, sometimes drowning in proverbs and drifting into a period of wasting time.
The world of writing has been familiar to me since I was in elementary school. I am so happy and happy when I hold a pencil or pen and scribble on books or anything that can be written, so remember the walls of the house are full of colorful scribbles, hahaha…
Just one day these fingers don't dance to write sentences, as if something is missing. Until now there are several books, diaries and other scribbles that I still keep as an archive of my writings. However, there is one thing that has always haunted me, namely that I do not want to publish my writings, not because I am afraid of being rejected or ridiculed, but more afraid and worried about the terrible human attitude called PLAGIAT. In the end, all the written works just piled up and became personal consumption.
Then I got acquainted with the world of writing on the internet, well, it turns out that there are so many people who confidently show off their writings. But I still can only admire the writings of others, forgetting to myself that I also have that talent and desire!
Until one day, I read an article on someone's blog (I forget the name), where the article describes the same topic as one of my articles, with sentences that are so similar even though with different writing styles. I was beyond shocked, I checked the date he made or posted the article. It turns out that my article was written first, there is a gap of about 1 year between the date in my hardcopy article archive and the date of the article on his blog. And, I have never published my writing.
My conclusion at that time was that there were two points, namely he could not be a plagiarist and the second point was that everyone has the possibility to think about the same topic even though the topic is packaged in a different form.
From that experience I got back up, started to venture to build a blog and introduce to the world that I am also a talented writer. That goes back to the saying at the beginning of this article, "Better late than never". I was determined that I should be able to achieve my dream of becoming a famous writer!
It's nice to be able to return to the surface, even though I have missed a lot of knowledge, it's okay, the important thing is there is determination and will. Do not want to continue to sink or rather drown yourself in the pool of talent which is actually a gift. Struggling hard, optimistic, confident, and always self-introspection are my motivational sentences now.
Come on, friends, don't let your talent be hidden. Open your eyes wide, there are still many things in front of you that you can see and explore to bring out your potential even more. Take the proverb carefully and don't get lost in it. It's never too late to start something, it's just a matter of how we start and enjoy it.
Although you misunderstood the topic, you have really done a great job in pinning this article down, and i must confess that I'm motivated and blessed by your post.
Thanks for the response friend. I hope this post can be useful for friends of this community. In the future I will continue to try to share good things for the community.
