Production
Good day my follow steemians today i will love to talk about production, but first of all i will love to tell you what is production, production can be said to be as the way of making of goods and provision services for the satisfaction of the need of people. I mean items that are produce, such as flour, clothes , ice-cream and so on to human needs. There are example of production such as:
Finished goods : This are goods that are consumed directly by the society. For example,yam is consumed after the process of cooking, it cannot be turned into any other thing. When the medical doctor give the patient medicine to cure malaria, the patient takes the medicine. the medicine is consumed directly by the patient.
Ice-cream : As a finished goods,is produced from several items such as sugar, malt, milk and colouring. The company or person who turn all the above items into Ice-cream seller offers service to both buyer and the producer. As an individual , we all have needs such as food and shelter which enable us to live well. Some of the needs are satisfied daily. For example food. Others are periodical, like prescription of drugs. These goods are not necessarily provided by us but by someone else. Who ever provide these goods to meet our needs is either into production or offers services.
To prepare pounded yam with egusi soup, you would need yam, fish, palm oil pepper, vegetables and melon seeds. In order to cook the food items, you bought your gas or kerosene from the store. The seller bought the gas or kerosene from a wholesaler and makes available to you. The trader or store owner has been provided a service to you by making gas or kerosene available.
The cooking gas or kerosene was not produced by the seller. In this simple example, production has taken place and services have been provided.
The oil palm is produced by the farmer. It is the farmer who plants the seeds, tends it and at maturity, harvests the oil palm from the tree and sells to the consumer who cooks with it for the family to eat. The farmer is involved in production.
Production is not restricted of goods and services. The machines that are used in the factory to make other goods needed by the consumer in the society are produced by other people. For example,in the process of farming, the farmer may have bought a Cutlass,a how,s digger or hired a caterpillar these farm equipment were also made by some other person's or organization. The person or organization who the equipment is also involved in production.
Types of production
There are two main types of production.
Primary production
Primary production is also known as extractive production. It involves digging up raw material from the ground.nigreia is Rich in crude oil which is turned into petrol, kerosene,coal,gas and other form of fuel used by consumers and manufacturers for their production processes . The industries in primary production are mainly concerned with the extraction of raw material for processing. The fishing and refining are done by the manufacturer. Farmers,fishermen,miners etc, are involved in the primary stage of product.
Secondary production
In these type of production we have manufacturing production.
Manufacturing production: This involves the making of assemblage of products:such industries process row material into semi-finished or finished goods,crude oil maybe extracted from the ground by one company into finished goods. Rubber is process into the tyres and tubes used in automobiles.
