I agree that maintaining friendships after marriage is very necessary especially for the mental and physical health of the two couple. Let's talk about type of friends we have because this matter alot, if you're keeping a casual friend, an intimate friend or a business friend and the likes.

When it comes to casual friend, or business friend or what ever you may call it, I encourage one to maintain such friendship after marriage especially when it is an healthy one. But you see that one called intimate friend please try all means to forget about it because it may cause damage to your beautiful new home. I think one should put a stop to any intimate friendship the moment they know they have a marriage at hand to do.

I don't even understand why should any one have an opposite gender as a bestie, any bestie you are having should be your gender (same gender with you). When once you're married your partner automatically become your bestie.

Let me use myself as an example, because I personally will not be comfortable seeing my husband having one special female friend he calls bestie, even if there's nothing intimate going on between them, my dear I will not still agree to it. I am a very jealous lover, yes I am with my full chest and don't look at me like that (smile) because even God in Heaven says He's a jealous God so who am I not to be jealous.

My dear brothers and sisters, it is not encouraging to do "bestie after marriage" with those few point of mine above👆.

Keeping healthy and quality friends after marriage is good, it's all about building trust and being transparent and sincere with our actions. Because we have some friends who are so cunning within and yet exhibit fake act of care.

I still encourage keeping friendship after marriage because I have an experience. Year 2020 during the Covid19 period I was hospitalized and there's this one of my friend that always come around everyday to keep me company and not only that o, she always come to the hospital with food even when she knew I wasn't permitted to eat then... Though my mom will later eat the food since she was there in the hospital with me steadily.

Not all friends should be maintained after marriage because people change on daily basis since change is a constant thing. There are some friends who can not content with your happiness and feel threatened by your new status as (Mr/Mrs).

I still encourage friendship after marriage that's if your friendship with the person will not affect your marriage, try and chose your friend wisely.

Being married and also keeping good friendship is encouraging because it will help you grow, give you moral support and even physical support.
