Hello everyone. I am very much interested in the topic of this contest, which has to do with a favorite vacation destination. Vacations, provides us with the opportunity to experience and explore places, people, historical landmarks and geographical area in the world. This in turn builds up your knowledge and understanding about different misconceptions. London, England, Tokyo, Japan, Seoul, South Korea. Dubai, UAE. For me, my dream vacation city will be New York city of the United States of America.

Introduction

New York city is a cosmopolitan city in the New York State of the United States of America. Everything works well. This is because it has a 24 hour operating economic system. Everyone works on shift. What I mean is that, if my morning shift was from 8 am to 12 pm, then someone has another morning shift of the same post from 12 am to his required to to go. Thus, another person has a mid- shift

It is said of New York City, that, You could wake up at any time at night and go to the bank, coffee cafe, the shopping mall or visit any place of interest and you are sure to get whatever you were looking for.

Before I tell you some reasons why I would prefer New York city as my favorite vacation destination, lets get a brief history of the development of New York city.

Brief History of New York City

The history of New York began when the Dutch colonials sought of annexed the Manhattan Island as their new settlement in the year 1624. Which they named it New Amsterdam.

Later on, they English occupied it and changed the name to New York. It seemed that their were some conflicts between the English and the Dutch. Because by the year 1673 the Dutch reclaimed it and changed the name again to New Orange.

Finally by November 1674, the name New York became its permanent name. So from a disputed city, it developed itself to emerge as one of the most developed sophisticated metropolitan cosmopolitan, commercial, and populous mega city in the United States. Not to be overlooked is that, from 1785 all through 1790, New York become the capital of the United States.

New York City Uniqueness

Multicultural

Starting from its early history with the Dutch and English occupiers, and it been a port city, it obviously clear that lots of people migrated to New York City. There are African American, Asians, Russians and Jews.

Fashion Center/Business Center of the world

New York is rightly described as both "business" and "fashion center" of the world. There are many fashion industries. This fashion business companies create a lot of employments and generate a lot of revenue for the New York City and State.

Skyscrapers

New York City is made of powerful skyscrapers. Some as real estate accommodation while others are big business, big tech skylines. Famous of them all are the "Empire State Building" and the "Twin Towers" which was destroyed on September 11, 2001. The popular film "King Kong" portrayed an extra ordinary ape climbing the Empire State Building building. Another important skyscraper in New York City is the United Nation Building.

The New York Central Park

For New Yorkers and tourists, there's no way you wont visit the New York central park located in Manhattan. New York central park is 843 acres, that is 341 in hectares. That reminds me, of a popular American movie known as "Home Alone". It was about a little boy, who was left out on their family vacation. At home, he saw his fathers wallet which contained some cash and credit cards, which he took and headed to New York City. Been chased by two robbers, he escaped into the New York central park. This shows you how important the park is to New Yorkers and tourists.

Public Transportation Systems

New York city public transportation system is based on Buses, subways, yellow taxis, the are relatively cheap and helps convey the citizens and tourists around. All this transportation systems operate 24 hours a day, 7 day a week. There are other means like ferries and helicopters. You can pay by cash or credit cards. They are generally affordable.

Conclusion

From its history and development, to it becoming a place many people like to visit and permanently reside, I am sure you like I, will choose New York City as a tourist destination.
