I have watch several movie whereby a women got contact with a cockroach in the house, the next thing she did was to scream. Apart from the movies, I have also seen it in real life a woman who is also scared of cockroach. Why can't they adopt cockroach as pet just like another animals? It's a general question. All this shows that cockroach is most hated insect especially in the surrounding, And the worst part of it is that they can live anywhere, that's how they ended up producing their young ones under the packs of minerals in my shop. I treated them like a queen with insecticide. 🤣

We have come to the another week of showing our drawings skills and I appreciate everyone who participate last week, trust me, the drawing of crocodile was awesome and I learnt a lot about crocodile last week like ability to regrowth their tooth through out their life span. Who does that, that's incredible. This week we're talking about cockroach and at the end, we will find out the facts and special characteristics of cockroach, what's make cockroach unique, don't miss out.

Let start by showing my drawing skill, which is drawing a cockroach. I used the following materials:

• White paper
• Pen

✅I first of all sketch my the diagram on my white paper, this sketch procedure is use when drawing with pen because you can't erase a mistake. I prefer sketching to get my drawing structure first. I sketch the cockroach head, the body, the legs and the antenna.


✅The second step is tracing the drawing, now the picture below, you can see that i have gotten the full structure of the cockroach without any mistake. That is the essence of sketching the drawing first.

✅The third step is making my drawing look attractive in a way that I shaded the body and the leg. Do you notice that you can clearly see the wing? of course, I shaded some side dark while some other side lighter. I shaded the head as the last part and behold, as easy as that, my drawing is ready.

Did I hear unique? of course, all the animals have certain characteristics that makes them unique, and cockroach has its own characteristics as well.

♦️Cockroach is one of the insect that can adapt among others because they can survive in extreme conditions and harsh environments as well. Are you surprised to know that even if you cut off head of cockroach it can survive for some days?

♦️Cockroaches also possess compound eyes which help them to see in low light conditions and detect motion which is one of the reasons you can possibly see them night.

♦️Cockroach antenna have sensory receptors whereby they sense changes in temperature, touch, and humidity and they communicate with each other by producing pheromones

♦️Cockroaches can consume anything from decaying plants, paper, leather left over food item's to even their dead ones.

♦️Just like other animals, cockroach also have a role to play in the ecosystem, though we see it as an insect that doesn't have a benefit to human.

♦️Cockroach act as decomposers in the ecosystem in a way that they eat and break down organic matter, a process whereby a nutrients are being brought back to the soil. It's also serve as a source of food to other animals which we know as good chain as a way of balancing the ecosystem.

♦️Because cockroach adapt to environment, being sensitive to changes in the environment, as such, scientists find it useful to use it as a biological indicator to study the changes in the environment.

In conclusion, though we all hate to see cockroach around use because of the diseases causes by it, we have come to more facts and uniqueness of cockroach such as being adaptable to the environment, ability to leave for a week without it head and compound eyes to see clearly at night.
