Alcohol intake has been one of the problems of man and it did not just start today. It has been in existence long ago. Alcoholism is a major setback and its effects cannot be overemphasized. Weve seen drunkards in our society and not to be biased, alcoholism is not limited to a particular country. Every country in the world have drink addicts who love excess intake of alcohol.

Weve seen series of deads gotten from excessive intake of alcohol. Alcohol is not bad moreso im not against taking it, but it is not good when taken in large or excessive quantities. This documentary will explain some of the reasons why.

Meaning of Alcoholism

Alcoholism from the name is simply misuse of alcohol. Okay ill break it down. Consider a person drinking too much of alcoholic drinks to a point that he or she gets addicted. Yeah. You might be wondering if its only men that fall a prey to alcoholism. The truth is both men and women fall to this scum. But it is very rare in women than men. This is due to thw fact that looking back at history, men were more exposed than the women. Take for instance during the two world wars that took place soldiers usually tool them for various purposes and those that survived the wars developed it as a habit. Once a person starts developing the habit of drinking too much, and alcohol for that matter, its difficult to stop.

Causes of Alcoholism

Well Alcoholism as I earlier said is habitual and at such there are various causes to which it is influenced. Ill drop some of them below. Here we go.

• Stress relieve:
  Attimes people tend to relax themselves after work or exhausting journeys and so may come across drinks to do so. Intake of alcoholic drink for stress relieves are most common in some developed countries.

• Peer pressure Influence:
  Attimes this particular cause is always prominent and the youths are most vulnerable. It is worthy of note that most of the Alcoholics we have today started Alcoholism at their teens and youths. This is when a person is drawn-in to be an alcoholic through his friends. Theres this saying that;

Show me your friend and ill tell you who your are.

Supposing your friend is an addict, you too will be an addict someday.

• Increased drinking habits overtime:
  This one is obvious. It starts with drinking a bottle to bottlimg two and afterwards three at the end you are baptized with it. This is hard to stop and can end a person abruptly.

• Feeling of low self esteem:
  Sometimes when a person is going through low self esteem, there this urge to forget about the past and so they end up drinking their predicament away.

Effects of Alcoholism

The effects of Alcoholism is enormous and they can come in many ways. Below are some examples;

1. It can result in broken relationships, be it marriage, parenting etc.

2. The society has no business to do with Alcoholics and so they are a liability to themselces and the society.

3. In critical situations, it can lead to heart and brain malfunctions. And can end the life of the victim.

Solutions to Alcoholism

To every problem, theres definitely a solution. Ill be using the causes of alcoholism to render their respective solutions.

• For the first cause, the solution will be to indulge in games and activities that will help relax and calm you down after stress. Avoid anything alcoholic as it will only bring you down.

• Avoid keeping companies of alcoholics and start creating new and responsible friends. Even the Bible tells us;

My son when sinners entice you, consent thou not .

• Try checking yourself and even if you want to take alcohol, take it in measurements. Do not overtake more than a cup or two. Thank goodness for wine cups. Use that to check the amount. A glass or two is okay.

• Whenever your having a feeling of low self esteem, know that God loves you and at such do things that makes you happy.
