**Contest Alert ⚠️: How I Dared the Impossible.
Hello steemians...
Greetings to you all, I'm so excited to participate on this amazing contest organized by @lhorgic in Steem4Nigeria community.
Have you had experiences of things that looked impossible until you faced them? |
|---|
During my academic career, I got involved in this kind of situation, I had the passion for auto-mobile engineering because I loved cars and any car I saw at that time in our yard, I will always like to Open the car engine and see those things inserted in the car in order to know the components of a car.
I told my parents I wanted to become an auto-mobibile engineer but to my greatest surprise, because my parents were not financially boyands they told me that after my secondary school I was going to learn mechanic, this thing said by my parents got me angry and I cried, I started thinking of how to generate money to write my WAEC and JAMB, I did so many labourers work (Like hawking banana, plantain, even frying of Akara Koko in other to source money) but yet all this didn't affect my studies.
The money I happened to realized I used it and pay for my JAMB without my parents knowledge, when the results for both the JAMB and WAEC came out, I scored 301 in jamb and WAEC too was great, I showed my parents the results my father was happy and sad at the same time because he thought the results was a waste because there were not enough fund to support my academic dreams, fortunate enough because of my score in jamb, I was given a scholarship to study auto-mobibile engineering in any school of my choice, and currently I am in my final semester in the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
<What gave you the courage to face those seemingly impossible situations |
|---|
Determination gave me the courage to stand against my family financial status and poor background, I wanted to change my family situation, I didn't want to be a mediocre, I wanted to be something great that everyone will look up to in the world. All these wouldn't have been done without determination.
How did you handle advice from friends and family who wanted to make you do otherwise. |
|---|
The way I handled my parents advice because my friends were also in support of my career, though I read the story of many myths and legend, I discovered that they came from a similar background like me, that to some extent my family background is ten times better than theirs but yet they became great men in the world.
I didn't pressure my parents into paying my exams fees, but I worked hard myself and prayed always to God and now I'm in the university through scholarship. had it been I followed my parents advice in learning mechanic I wouldn't have been where I am today. Thus, what ever you have passion for, go for it or do it with all your hearts and pray always, your star will shine someday.
I'm inviting @josepha @suboohi and @bossj23 for the contest.
