You are all welcome to another week of creative cooking contest, the content this week is staring a special spice locally known as Ngansang seed or Njansang. To make sure we are all on the same page, here is a picture of the spice in question.

It is scientifically identified as Ricinodendron heudelotii and used in some specific African cuisine.
This spice is used in a wide variety of combinations and ratios to give the dish a desired texture, flavour or appearance.

In this week's Creative Cooking contest, you are expected to give us any local recipe that has our beloved Ngansang as an Ingredient.

What is the local name for this spice and does it have any medicinal properties?
How do you measure the quantity of this spice to be used in your cooking.
How did you come in contact with this spice, a short narrative will be preferable.
What local dishes are cooked with this ingredient, with what spice do you often combine it with?
Give a recipe for cooking one of your local dishes that involves this spice.
