Introduction

Greetings to you in any parts of the world you found yourself. It's another interesting topic for the week 24 to keep it busy. This has contributed to making me feel happy for the great topic on "Giving and how it should be done".

We shall be looking forward to understanding what giving is all about and how it should be presented to the receivers. This will be seen just below:

What is your definition of "Giving"

Giving can be seen as a sacrifice one offered for a particular benefit reached.

Giving is an important tool for divine encounter. Giving is as important as the life we live. That is why God says; its better for you to give than to receive. However, giving create relationship and maintain great relationship.

What should be the right motive behind giving

The right motive behind giving is love. When you love someone, you give freely without been pushed. Giving is to support or encourage a group of people or individuals to keep moving on.

Giving can change a man's character to better and it encourages growth. We can see that God gave his son to die for man and that makes God to win man back to himself. So the right motive of giving is sacrifice that would yield great harvest.

Do you believe in giving and publicizing the act. I.e sharing on social media

We have two forms of giving:

1. Private giving &
2. Public giving

Private Giving

Private giving is an act of giving a package in a secret to someone. This giving is a good type because nobody knows about it but only the giver, the receiver and God.

The Lord recommended this type of giving and that is why the Bible says "he that gives in secret, the Lord will bless him openly. Remember, the Bible says when giving out alms, that we should not allow our left hand to know about the giving.

This signifies that God is not pleased when publicized giving is done.

Public Giving

Public giving is a type that is done openly. This kind of giving can help to build up an individuals to join a certain group whether in church or in other local gathering.

This type of giving is always done by group of people at year ends and this motivate others to joining such groups.

Note; individual giving should not be publicized while public giving can be shared on social media.

Mention some of the ways you think the act of giving should not be done.

The following are some points I felt that the act of giving should not be done:

1. When giving to individual, it should not be announce outside.

2. Whenever you have a gift for somebody, don't tell people how you have a gift that you want to give that person before giving it out!

3. Don't give an important gift without proper coverage.

4. Don't with the heart to gain favour from the receiver.

5. Don't give things that are not good.

6. Don't always put the receiver on pressure to know if he/she is okay with the gift!

In conclusion, today we can see that many don't know how to give good gift, this is because they didn't know the blessing attached to giving.

Many do give out to make name and for their selfish ambition. This kind of people only give a certain class of people in life and can't come down to the lower class.

Giving should be done in a specific way as listed explained in the private giving above.

Giving should not be done for the motive of gaining favour or eye witness.
