Creative Writing: Stanley The Dreamer!

Hello friends,

I am always filled with joy whenever I come before this community, a community filled with hard-working moderators and members, a community filled with the needed vibes and motivation.

Today, I will be coming with a fictional write-up about Michael and his roommate, stay tuned.

Michael just returned back to school after the long suffocating warning strike he experience.
Of course Asuu has called off the strike and he's in school again.

He went to his room, met his roommate, and although tired but happy, he and his roommate gisted about how they spent the nine months of the suffocating strike.

Michael related how he was used as an errand boy at home, how he was sent every errand, even to do the dishes, and his roommate Stanley just laughed over it.

"Yours is even little" stanley said, then Michael asked "how do you mean", he continued "what could be worse than being used as an errand boy at home, with no cash whatsoever".

Then Stanley narrated his " Why I said yours is better is because, aside the errands, you had the chance to what you wanted", he continued "for my part, I got a job, I worked in a factory, but guess what happened", then Michael asked scornfully "what?!".

Stanley continued " In the factory where I worked, I was being paid NGN30k monthly",
"This is wonderful!" Michael exclaimed, but Stanley continued " NGN20k out of my salary was being used for transportation, which means I had only NGN 10k to myself, which is not enough to cater for my needs"

Then Michael said "you shouldn't have accepted that job, it's not worth it at all"

They continued their discussion until it was very late in the night, then they realized they were hungry.

"I will go and prepare something for us to eat" Michael said.
As he was about going, he felt a tremble beneath his feets, then he turned and looked at stanley, who was also looking at him.

Then he moved again, this time the vibration was more intense.
"Did you feel that" Michael asked Stanley, "yes I did, what could that be?" Stanley replied

They overlooked it and as Michael was about to continue, the vibration became more intense, like the ground was about to split into two.

The ground began trembling so great that they noticed the walls of their room closing right before thier eyes, the walls started coming closer like it would compress them.

They tried to escape but they couldn't because they would always fall back to the ground whenever they try to get up, then a great panic set in, they felt that was the end.

They both began to scream and cry at the top of their voices, only for them to realize that outcries were coming from other rooms too, "could other students be experiencing the same thing" they wondered.

The walls beside them began to close faster and the trembling increased, same as the outcries from the building.

Then all of a sudden, everything came to a halt, after they had sweat profusely, the wall stopped at the tip of their toes
They heard a voice from the atmosphere like a megaphone saying:

"Good day players, My name is Mr Mastermind and I will be the host of today's game."

Before they could interpret what was said, the voice continued "Turn your neck upwards and look at the roof above your head"

There was no need for Michael and Stanley to turn since the roof was only few inches from their heads.

"You will all see a little vent on the roof, and out of that vent will emerge a very dangerous, poisonous gas in the next 60minutes."the voice continued.

"No need trying to escape because all doors have been locked and will be opened after the instructions of the game has been passed accross" then we heard our doors locking itself, and this got more scary.

The voice paused for few seconds and continued "You might conclude that this is the end and you will die, well you are not far from it, as death is at your doorstep" the masculine voice chuckled.

"The only escape route is for you to kill your roommate, kill or be killed, hahaha"

The voice continued, " In few minutes, we expect to see 30 of you coming out of your rooms, each with the head of his roommate on his hands"

Immediately after that statement, two sharp knife slide into the rooms from nowhere, then the voice said "it is time"

Michael and Stanley stared at the knives and then stared back at each other in slow motion.

Then Stanley hurriedly picked one of the knives, pointing it at Michael immediately.
"No..no...hold on buddy...this...this is not real" Michael said stammering.

"This is so real bro...and I don't want to die" Stanley exclaimed.

Then they both heard voices from other rooms as some had began killing their roommate... "This is the end" Michael concluded within him.

All of a sudden, the vent released a little gas which passed through the nostrils of both Stanley and Michael which made them cough heavily.

Michael then took this as an opportunity to immediately grab the hands of Stanley, then pinning Stanley to the ground.

Stanley struggled to come up but Michael still dominated him on the ground.

"Listen buddy, no one has to die...I have a plan, there is a way out" Michael said, trying to calm Stanley.

As he continued, Stanley calmed and he said, this is what we will do......

As he was speaking, Stanley received a pat at his back, it was his elder sister trying to wake him up from this night mare.

Stanley immediately jumped up and sighed heavily, oh thank God, it was all a dream.
