INTRODUCTION

Hello,
Good morning to all active steemians here in STEEM4NIGERIA community. I truly believe we all had a good night rest, waking up to with different plans and goals to accomplish today.

Here is my participation on a Contest Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC)| S12W6- "My country; My Home." organized and published by @steem4nigeria the community official account.

We all have different countries which we belong to, and we have histories to tell about our country probably what makes it unique from other countries alongside with some areas that needs improvement.

Here I am going to briefly talk about my country Nigeria and what makes it unique also some area that needs improvement.

About my Country Nigeria

My country Nigeria is a country located in West Africa, you can find it in the map. It is the most populated country in Africa and it is rated as the seventh most populated country in the world with over 200milions people. Nigeria was free from dependence and from British colonial rule on the 1^st 1960 and began with experienced periods of military rule was later switch to democratic governance.

We have many ethnic groups of about 250, But the three noted and large ethnic groups are the Hausa, Yoruba,Igbo followed by Efik and ibibio and others. Our general language is English, though we have about 500(five hundred) regional launguages spoken.

In Nigeria we are source with mixed economy, which includes agriculture, oil and some natural resources like limestone, graphite and crudes oil. Nigeria is the largest oil producers in Africa. However, the country faces challenges such as corruption, poverty, and inadequate infrastructure.

My country is blessed with rich cultural heritage, such as traditional musics from different region, dance and a lot of prominent artist.
We own Nollywood, that's the Nigerian movie industry, which is the second to the largest film industry in the world with thousands of productions.

Why I think my country is unique

I have a lot evidence to prove that My country is unique but here I will state three four.

• Cultural heterogeneity: like I said earlier Nigeria is known for being rich with assortment of cultures with over 250 ethnic groups. Each of the ethnic group here has their own unique traditions and languages, making Nigeria more vibrant and a diverse country.

• Nollywood/music entertainment: like I said Nigeria is best home to one of the largest film industries in the world popularly known as Nollywood. Nigeria also has different a prospering music industries, Known as Afrobeat and Afropop. Nigerian has the largest music industry in Africa with top musicians like Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid and a lot of them who have gained global fame and contributed to the popularity of African music worldwide.

• Entrepreneurial Spirit:Nigerians as a whole are known for their entrepreneurial spirit and resilience. Alot of Nigerians have successfully started businesses and work harder and achieved great success in their business both within our country Nigeria and international e.g Aliko Dangote Mike Adenuga Tony Elumelu Folorunsho Alakija and a lot of others.

• Natural Resources: my country Nigeria is blessed with abundant natural resources such as crude oil, natural gases, solid minerals e.g lime and graphit and a lot agricultural products. Nigeria is one of the largest oil-producing countries in Africa.

Those what makes my country unique.

No, except that nigeria is a bit lagging technological innovations, I always wish sometimes if I have the opportunity to educate in any county that is advanced in technology, then come back with different ideas and innovations that will contribute to the growth of my dear county Nigeria.

Areas in my home (Nigeria) I will love to see improvement

Dispite that Nigeria economy and population is high with a lot of successful entrepreneurs and influencers. Nigeria is facing some challenges most especially insecuritysuch as insurgens in the northern part of Nigeria by the Boko Haram's terrorist gang against Nigerian Army. Also ethnic and religious tensions sometimes lead to occasional conflicts.

I will really love to see the improvement done by the government to stop the insecurity and the rebellion that sometimes causes affliction to the nigerians.

I would also love to Nigeria improving technologically.

Brief Summary and Conclusion

Here in todays article I have successfully give some highlight about My country. We first talked about the history of Nigeria, where I talk about when my country got independence on the 1^st 1960 after being colonies by the British.

We also talked about the nigerians ethnic group of over 250 with about 500(launguages) and deversity of cultures and the three largest ethnic groups and the population and rates in the world.

We talked our recourses which makes us a unique country, and some of the areas I will love to see improvement.

Actually from the view Nigeria is quite a large country that is blessed with a lot of resources making our country vibrant, famous and a diverse country.
