My Country and Her Mineral Resources

Hello everyone, I'm glad to be here. This my first contest post in this community and also my first contest post in Steemit platform. I stumbled on this contest and I'll like to partake before it ends.
Introduction
Nigeria my country is proudly known as the Giant of Africa. It is West African Country with a total land mass area of 923,768 km². Nigeria is made up of 36 states and its Federal Capital Territory is Abuja. Nigeria has a rich land, filled with mineral resources and the fertile soil is extensively used for agriculture by farmers in Northern and Southern areas.
What is/are the mineral resources your country is blessed with
Nigeria is indeed blessed with several mineral resources such as gold, tin, coal, limestone, iron-ore, marble, lead, gypsium, kaolin, bitumen, lead, zinc, glass-sand, copper and many others.
Every state in Nigeria is rich in one or more mineral resources, and one mineral resource can be found in multiple places.
Gold is found in places like Osun, Kebbi, Abia, Bauchi. Coal is abundant in Enugu, Ondo, Plateau. Limestone is abundant in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Enugu, Bayelsa, Ogun.
Marble is dominant in Abuja, Delta,Edo,Kawara.
Has these mineral resources been fully harnessed
In my best knowledge, these mineral resources has not been fully harnessed. Coal for example should be like a goldmine for Nigeria but because it is poorly managed, we are not enjoying from it.
Nigeria has the raw material (coal) yet we still import the finished product (fuel -petrol, kerosene, gasoline ). Why? Because government has failed to build new or repair old refineries. Worse is that we export it at a low price and import the finished product at a higher ridiculous price.
Has the proceeds from these resources been used properly by your government for the welfare of her citizens
The proceeds Nigeria government makes from these resources hasnot been properly for the welfare of Nigerians. The Government have no concern for her citizens, they only think about how to fill their stomach with the national cake. The economy of this country is going down, prices of goods inflating every minute. Yet, government is doing hardly anything to suffice the situation. Citizens are suffering, the education sector, agricultural sector, health sector and a host of other sectors are grossly undermanaged.
Revenues that are supposed to be used for the welfare of the citizens and improve the economy is embezzled to enrich themselves and their families.
Despite the richness of the land, Nigerian government has failed her citizens because of bad governance and poor management of national resources including the mineral resources.

Hola amigo @jaykay1, bienvenido a esta dinámica que nos permite expresar nuestro punto de vista, respetando el criterio de cada uno, me gusta esta Plataforma porque podemos interaccionar con todos los steemians del mundo, me da mucha tristeza que nuestro Creador dió tantas bendiciones con los recursos minerales y no sepamos trabajar en ellos en beneficio de todos los compatriotas que allí viven.
Me pregunto por qué lo permitimos, por qué una minoría siempre se impone sobre la mayoría, por qué tanta inhumanidad e injusticia social, debemos pensar en qué hacer? para mejorar la gestión de nuestros recursos minerales, es hora de hacer algo dentro de la Constitución siempre hay artículos que permiten una buena gestión y equidad en la repartición de las regalías de la producción de los mismos.
Es lamentable lo que leo en la mayoría de los amigos steemians al responder las preguntas, hay muchas coincidencias en cuanto al provecho y la gestión gubernamental.
