Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 36: Away From Home
Hello Steemians, welcome to my post. I am excited to participate in this challenge which I have talked about "Away From Home".
What is your definition of "Home"
Home is where I am coming from. Which is my house. Home is also defined as the place where a person feels most comfortable, protected, and loved by the people around. Home means a lot to me, as it is a place where my family members are staying.
In conclusion, home is the place where I live, and the place where I get true love from my family and friends, it is a place where I am known for who I am.
Have you been away from home, Where exactly was it?
Yes, I have been away from home, and currently, I am away from home. There are many times that I have left my home to another place. It is not always easy to leave a place where people know you to a place where you will be treated like a half-cast, the first time, that I left my home I was treated like a half cast which I felt uncomfortable staying in the place.
Currently, I am out of my home and I am finding it difficult to adapt to the lifestyle of the place I am. In the place I am, the people aren't friendly with me, and I am finding it difficult to get acquainted with the lifestyle of the people here.
What was your experience like...interesting, boring, maltreated, loved, etc...Kindly share with us.
My experience leaving my home where I always felt comfortable and loved to another person's home, was a boring experience. I felt isolated in the place and was taking permission for everything that I wanted to do. Sometimes I would just keep quiet and observe things since I couldn't speak the language of the community that I left my home for.
I was uncomfortable at the place. Anyone who saw me knew I was a visitor to the place. Anytime I step out, people just stare at me and I feel ashamed as if I have committed something wrong. Honestly, It was a boring experience for me, having no friends in the place.
If you're given another opportunity to be away from home to the same place you visited, would you go? Give us reasons.
Yes, I would go if I had another opportunity to be away from home. An English man would always say, that learning is part of education which exposes us to new friends and other people's lifestyles and cultures.
I would go because before I left the place, I became friends with some people and I became interested in the culture of the people which I would like to experience again.
Another reason why I would go to the place again is that I have gained ground in the place going there people will no longer look at me as a stranger, unlike the first time that I went to the place.
