Good day to all my country people, and to all the lovely steemians in the house. Its a privilege to participate in this amazing contest, and I'm so happy and blessed to relate with you. Today, I welcome you to my page, where I will be talking to you about my country (Nigeria). Before I proceed, I do love to appreciate @steem4nigeria for this opportunity given to me to relate with you. Remain blessed as you read through.

Discuss the current state of the
                 country.

First of all, I do love to let you know that my country (Nigeria), is such a great and lovely country. We are blessed in almost every sphare of life, and we are considered to be the giant of African. Here in my country, we have a lot of mineral resources that every country in the world always dream to have.

Talking about the current state of the country (Nigeria), I most confess that we are passing through a hard and difficult situation. Despite the resources we have, hunger, insecurity, bad roads, poor health sectors, unemployment, and bad education has always been the discussion of the day. Nothing seems to be right in the country anymore. We are passing through a situation where by the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.

More to that, the backbone of development of any country, which is education, is passing through a hard time. Universities have been on strick for months, yet the government is doing nothing about it. What a challenge we are facing.

What are the Various issues that
need to be addressed by the
 government?

As a matter of fact, for this country (Nigeria) to be better than what it is today, various issues have to addressed. Below are the issues that seriously need immediate attention from the government.

  • Education: the greatest challenge that a country can ever experience is the problem of education. Education brings about any kind of development that a country will ever need. Some of the problems occur due to lack of education, and if people can have good education, a country will never experience some challenges. Today in Nigeria, there is no good education anymore. Schools are always on strick, and no one is attending to their needs. That's actually the biggest challenge that the government need to look into.

  • insecurity: sometimes I ask myself, who is actually safe in this country? Both the poor and the rich is living with fear. No one is safe anymore. You can neither travel by road nor sleep in your house with full assurance that kidnappers will not knock on your door. Life's and properties are not longer safe, and on daily basis, you hear how someone is being killed or kidnapped by unknown gunmen. I Wonder what the security personnel's are actually doing. This issue has been a topic of discussion and the government need to attend to it.

  • Unemployment: have you ever thought about how many graduates we have in this country? I was surprised when my friend applied for NYSC batch B stream 1, but due to the population of people that applied for the NYSC at that time, he was shifted to batch B stream 2. That's to tell you how many people graduate every year. We have thousands of graduates in this country, yet no employment. Hunger has found a place among people, yet no one is willing to give employment to the poor. But guess what, the children of the rich are always the ones occupying the positions that they don't even deserve. this issue need to be addressed by the government.

  • Electricity: I was surprised when mummy @patjewell made a post about experiencing a power shifting or breakdown in south African for just a day of one or two. From her post, it was clear that south African don't usually experience such. But is that the case in our country today? Of course no. Sometimes I do stay a week without seeing any power supply. Yet I'm residing in a state capital. I believe its a big challenge for a country who is so blessed like Nigeria to experience such a Low power supply. This issue need the immediate attention of the government.

  • Health sector: today in this country (Nigeria) people die in hospitals due to lack of good medical attention and equipment. Some diseases that are not worth taking away life's if treated, are now killing people on daily basis due to lack of medical equipment. This is really a challenge that the government need to address.

  • Poor road maintainance: The conditions of our roads are nothing to write home about. They are so bad that sometimes you do prefer to walk rather than using your car on them. Some journeys that are suppose to take you some minutes, will make you spend hours due to bad roads. This challenge need to be addressed by the government.

Do you think there are better ways things
 can be done differently
 for rapid change?

One thing i so much love about life is, to every problem, there is always a solution. The challenges of Nigeria is not an exception, and as such, below I present to you some solutions to the challenges listed above.

As I earlier mentioned, education is the key to any development in a country. We have more than the resources needed to solve our educational challenges, and as such, the government should hold a meeting with the educational bodies, and try to iron things out. The needs of the educational bodies should be attended to, so that students can go back to their books. More to that, employment should be given base on merit, rather than who you know. We have millions of graduate who are capable of making great impact in organization, but they were denied employment because, they don't have anyone to stand for them. If that can be changed, this country will be a better place. In addition, health sectors should be equipped with all the necessary equipment needed to combat diseases. Likewise, all the bad roads should be reconstructed by the government. I so much believe that if attention can be given to the above problems, this country will experience a rapid positive change.

           Conclusion.

Nigeria is a country that's blessed with silver and gold. But the current situation of the country is nothing to write about. The country is passing through such a hard time, and nothing seems to be right. On daily basis, things get worst without any sign of change. Nevertheless, I believe they is always a solution to all the challenges, and i hope with time, the country will be a better place.

Finally, I do love to say thank you for your time. I invite @yakspeace, @micheal-akpan, and @ijebest to participate.
