My Neighborhood Watch #61 - Reporting Events Around us

Greetings friends of Steemit and Steem4Nigeria

It's always exciting to make post in a community like Steem4Nigeria. Before I start I would like to invite two fellow Steemians @crismenia and @eveetim to participate in the contest.

In the meanwhile many sad things happened in our city. A lady PGT student doctor was rapped and murdered in her college hospital building during her duty hours. Only one suspect has been arrested who is happened to be Civic Volenteer in police and he has admitted his crime. The protest is still continuing and All India Doctors Association has declared a nation wide work suspension today.

All this unprecedented facts have dampened the spirit of Durga Puja. Many Clubs and committees have refused the Puja donation offered by government as they can't give protection to the girls and ladies of the society.

Though Durga Puja is arround the corner still two Puja committee have not yet started the preparation for the Puja. No pandal or stage is seen at the site of Puja.

Anyways the clay artisan are very busy in making the idols. It has already made the idols in the advanced level. Within a day the will start painting the idols.

People are also busy in puja shopping as there are new arrivals at big stores. Ofcourse some of the departmental stores still continuing

discount sales. It is upto 50% on monsoon items. Still crowd is not upto expectations.

It is very nice that South Suburban Trader's Association with support of Lions Club of Behala organised a Blood Donation and Health camp in the morning and distribution of clothes to the people of EWS. It has really brought smile in their face before Puja in the turmoil.

It was also very disturbing to inform that there was a scam with the Medical admission test questions leakage in the neighbouring State of Bihar. It was fortunately came to the notice of administration and exam was cancelled which has really prevented unscrupulous candidates admission to MBBS in the nation.

There was a steet corner held by All Bengal Safe Education Committee against the scam.
