My Neighborhood Watch #42 - Reporting Events Around us

It's always exciting to make post in a community like Steem4Nigeria. Before I start I would like to invite two fellow Steemians @crismenia @joymm to participate the contest.

Another new week lot of things happened. So we found many new events in the neighbourhood.

There was five days long Nam Sankirtan and Mahotsava organised by Sirishtala Sarbojonin Harinam Samiti in Sirishtala Park . It was the tenth year of celebration. During this time Radhakrishna worship was conducted with lot continuous chanting hymns day and night. There are road procession as well.

In the last day after full moon on 26.03.2024 is the day of Mahotsav. On the day the a special bhog (food for lord) was offered. The idols are dressed with new clothes and gold ornaments. It belive that lord Jagannath also known form of Lord Krishna will have invisibly food from each container or malsa containing same food and it become mahaprasad i.e. sacred food.

Each container will be given to the designated member who has booked for it with pranami (price for it).

There was dry and ripe fruits also. There was also Harirloot ( distribution of sugar candy) which are also considered as prasad. As well as there was bitten rice sweet mixture to all. I also had it.

I returned home. Bright moon was behind me all along my way back. I took a photo of the full moon while going there in evening.

There was a three day long football tournament organised by Behala Club in different format. It was their first year.

On 31.03.2024 the final match. Different teams of locality and Subrberban participated in the tournament. There were lot excitement and fun. Even there are players from Nigeria also in a team. They usually come for playing in the big clubs. It is very tough to get invitation from big clubs. The usually bring plyers who have represented National level at least. However this tournament are popular in locality. I visited the ground all three days. They gave each a participation memento. There were winners and runners up trophy.
