The concept of punctuality is an issue that needs correct address in our world of today. It is such a shame that some people don’t value timeliness any more. Our youths and younger generations, unfortunately grew up without knowing the true essence of time.

Punctuality, I believe is the state of being timely. It is having that consciousness of time, being always on time and as early to an event as possible. Punctuality is a great quality people ought to have. It saves us from missing out on important things that we could have learnt from or experience, events or awards that should have been ours, and much more.


Time, as important as it is, should be treated with great care and attention. It is not our own to own it, nor can we ask it to wait. We cannot go back in time even if we wanted to or tried to. The only thing we can do is to make good use of it. Being punctual helps us to value time. It tell us about ourselves in a way. How organized and disciplined we truly are. Punctuality is a great quality that can indeed lead us to great heights.

LIST AND EXPLAIN SOME IMPORTANCE OF BEING PUNCTUAL IN LIFE

Some of the importance of punctuality in the life of an individual includes;

• PUNCTUALITY PORTRAYS PROFESSIONALISM:
  An individual who is always punctual in school work or church, gives off an aura of professionalism. The quality of punctuality makes people see you as someone that one can count on to do something and deliver it on time. Someone that can be relied on to finish a task at the set time without excuses or disappointment. Someone that can be professional.
  
  
• PUNCTUALITY PROMOTES PRODUCTIVITY:
  Someone who is punctual is capable of achieving a lot in a little amount of time. Punctuality is linked to increase productivity. In a work setting, this quality is very crucial to have as it can get you several promotions and heights in life. When one is punctual, that person can be seen to be very efficient and productive. Why, because such person has mastered how to use smoothing has valuable as time very properly and efficiently to accomplish lots of task and goal in a specified amount of time. That is smartness. And it is one great quality that can lead us to success.
  
  
• PUNCTUALITY SIGNIFIES INTEGRITY:
  One attributes linked to integrity is being punctual. A man who is always punctual will always be seen as a man of integrity. He/ she will be seen as someone who is always true to himself and words. Imagine a man who can’t even keep to his time in a meeting. What does that show of him in that moment? Such person will be seen as someone who can’t stay true to his words. Or someone who is unserious with the task at hand. The opposite can be seen for a man who is punctual.
  
  

WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THE EXPRESSION “THE EARLY BIRDS GET THE WORM”AND DO YOU BELIEVE IT IS TRUE

The statement “the early bird gets the worm” in my understanding means, those who arrive first has the best of succeeding or acquiring the best things in life. This statement is a long old proverb that tries emphasize the importance of starting something early in life. Whatsoever event or activity you engage in, you should act immediately, go early, as the early ones catches the worm. I believe in this statement, it is quite true. Sometimes some opportunities are available only to the early or first competitors.

PEOPLE SAY IT IS BETTER LATE THAN NEVER” DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS AND WHY

This statement is trying to say that it is better it is late to do something you should have done earlier, than not to do it at all. However, I disagree with this statement. Sometimes, doing something at that supposed time gets you the maximum benefits. Doing it later may not get you your desired result or you may have missed out on your reward if done late. So I remain with the stand that, indeed the early bird catches the worm.
