Hello good friends of steem4nigeria, I am here to participate in this contest my vocation destination location. Port Harcourt is my choice on this contest.
Port Harcourt is the capital and largest city in Rivers State, Nigeria and it lies along the Bonny river and located in the Niger Delta. It was founded by Lord Fredrick Lugard in 1912.
Travelling to Port Harcourt from my state(Akwa Ibom state) by road is estimated at 1 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours if average speed is 108km/hr.
Port Harcourt is the boatbuilding and fishing industries. The university of Port Harcourt and Rivers State University of science and technology serve the town.

REASON FOR VACATION DESTINATION LOCATION
The reasons behind my choice of Port Harcourt are;
- The heavy populations noted, for having large crude oil deposit, farming, fishing and other business opportunities.
- The city attracts many people who go there every year to make better opportunities.
- It also do well on tourism and has many fun activities for tourists and vocationers to enjoy.
THINGS TO SEE IN PORT HARCOURT
ZOO
The zoo is located at Trans -Amadi, Port Harcourt and it has traffic mostly on weekends because people go there to witness the feeding of the animals.
FESTIVAL, EVENT AND ACTIVITIES
- The most famous event is the Port Harcourt Rivers State Cultural carnival held in December.
- The bole and fish is a significant meal of the Rivers people made from a recipe of roasted plantain and fish applied in a most delicious peppery and palm oil sauce.
SUPERMARKETS
There are different places of selling goods like the mall, boutique, shopping center, shopping plaza, stand, etc.

Other places are estates, highways universities , etc.
WHICH LANGUAGE DO THEY SPEAK? .
Most people speak English, they speak Ijaw, Ikwere and Ogoni language.
Then best way to experience Port Harcourt is by local touring. Get on a bus and hop from one place to another around the town to see all the major site in one day
I love Port Harcourt because it is a big city, the people are friendly and the environment is condusive.

Is a nice place to stay but cost of living in Port Harcourt is on a high side.
