Greetings, Steemian! This topic is relatable and I'm here to submit my tale of it.

What do you understand by the statement, There's light at the end of a dark tunnel?

The statement There's light at the end of a dark tunnel to me depicts a picture of hope when faced with lives difficulties. Having hope and faith in the fact that there would always be a way out when one is faced with life difficulties of different kind entails a different kind of inner strength.

Staying positive through life's difficult is very daunting. It requires determination and a level of faith that would look past the situation and help one find strength in his struggles.

Some dark tunnels could be one's cross to bear in life and sometimes striving to see light at the end of the tunnel turns out to be a wasted effort.

In what situations have you experienced or seen the fulfilment of this statement? You can share experiences of others or yourself.

I have experienced some setbacks but I would be using the story of a friend to illustrate this point since it was from her experience I learnt to find hope in times of despair.

My friend, Mesoma, came from a well to do home. Her father made sure heir family of five never lacked anything. We attended the same primary and secondary school and I know her family too well.
Things actually fell apart when she lost her father to the cold hands of death.

This came as a shock as he picked us from school the previous day and dropped me at my home (we had our mid term break that week and we were allowed to go home since we were borders). I didn't know how to handle the news but what weighed me down the more was how she was going to cope with it.

Her mum who was a full time housewife had to get a job to be able to Carter for her family. The job she got was one with a meagre payment and it took a while lot from her to still keep Mesoma in our school as her other 2 siblings were enrolled in a public school. It was a whole lot for both of us as we resorted in taking bikes whenever we were going back to school or returning home and with the long distance and the exposure to too much air, we always had to get ourselves treated before leaving for school and when we get back from school.

Most nights, Mesoma would stay awake crying and wishing her dad was still alive. Adapting was so difficult because her dad always made sure she had enough provisions for the term but the new reality was so different since her mother could not afford some of her provisions but with all of these she still held on believing things would change.

After secondary school, Mesoma lost her mother too, it was so disheartening. As the first child, she needed to take care of her siblings. She started doing some cleaning jobs and used that to take care of herself and her siblings. It was really hard on her and most tomes, she felt it would have been better she never existed.

Help came when she applied for scholarships for her siblings and they scaled through it getting fully funded scholarship into the University. Now, she only needed to think of herself. Still doing her job, she applied to study Guidance and Counseling since she needed a platform to speak to young ones who may be going through what she went through. She continued with the job while she studied. It was difficult but I'm glad to let you know that she pulled through, graduated and works in a renowned school as a Counselor.

What problems are you currently facing that seems dark like that of a tunnel?

Personally, with the way inflation is reeking through our economy, I'd say the problem o am facing now that seems like a dark tunnel is lack of financial support. Being a student and lacking financial support could be draining and one could lose focus whole trying to do one or two legit things to get the needed support.

Do you actually believe there could be light at the end of a dark tunnel in your life? State reasons

Yes, I do believe there could be light at the end of a dark tunnel in my life. My reasons are:

  • I believe He who created me knows how my life should be and so He knows how to help me navigate through life's difficulties.
  • I am determined to see light at the end of life's struggles.
  • I am constantly working towards seeing light at the end of the end of the tunnel.

Having hope and faith in the fact that help can always come through for us when we are faced with life's challenges is the beginning of our breakthrough.

Thank you @bossj23 for this very important topic. I want to invite @darasimi, @roselove and @nsijoro to participate in this contest.
