Steem4Nigeria Weekly Contest - What I Believed Versus the Real Picture

in Steem4Nigeria2 years ago

Hello everyone around!

Today this contest drew my attention towards it. I fell it fits of laughters while reading this as it remember me of all lies, my parents had told to scare me. And by the time i was all grown up and i got to know about the reality I had nothing but the memories to enjoy. I've had many of those memories and I'm going to share some of them with you.

1. The closed room one...

When i was in primary school there was a spare room in the backyard of our school. We usually tried to get in and discover but it was tightly locked from outside. Our teacher told us the management had locked a horror man in there to put naughty children in front of him. We got really afraid of the room and never in once tried to go there.

We got to know the truth that it was a dungeon where extra stuff and tools were kept when we were in middle school. Teachers told that lie to keep us away from getting hurt from old furniture.

We were angry on ourselves to believe in the lie but it was for our own good.

2. The wild cat one..

My mother had a jute bag with some marks on it. Whenever me or my siblings annoyed her or denied to have food, she scare us by saying she kept a stray cat in it and moreover those marks were made from it's scratching. We easily got scared and follow her every order. The bag also had some machines ehich drew out cat sounds and it increases our fear.

We got to know that it was only a bag with some artificial machines and scratches , when one day I suddenly touched it and it didn't made any sound. I fearfully opened it to found nothing but some cotton and speakers.

It was scary a bag though but our mother always used it for our good (eating food or doin' homework)

3. The murder in restrooms

Once our school got painted. The restrooms were by chance painted red. Floor also got some stains. The mischievous students of high-school scare us by saying a man had attempted suicide in restrooms as he was tryin' some bloody marry challenges in there. She came out of mirrors and made him attemp suicide. From that day onward we being juniors never turned to those restrooms.

When principal got to know of this shit he told us that it was just some paint stains and not a big deal like some suicide attempts.

It was such a useless way to scare us but us being children easily got scared.
