Today I will like to discuss on the topic transport system, but in the mammalian body, we know how materials are transported from one part to the other, where they are produced to the area they are needed.

Transport system in plants and animals is the movement of digested/metabolic materials from one part of the body to another where they are either absorbed, use, stored and excreted.
NEED FOR TRANSPORTATION
For substances or materials to move from one place ti another in or out of the body.

• Transport is important for every cell of the organism to obtain all necessary materials for its metabolism, e.g. water, nutrients and oxygen.
• it is necessary in the movement of mineral salts and water from the roots to the stem and leaves in plants.
• it is also needed to move hormones in plants and animals from where they are produced to the area of need.

IMPORTANCE OF TRANSPORT SYSTEM

• IT helps in the movement of digested food.
• it helps in the removal of waste product
• it helps to link different organ in the body
• it helps in the regulations of water balance in the body.
• it helps to regulate the body temperature 🌡 and keep it constant.
• it helps in transportation of ausin plants.
• it helps in transportation of hormones from the ductless gland to the target organ.
  TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN LOWER ORGANISMS
  Lower organisms do not have adequate transport system for the transportation of materials. Therefore materials move in and out of their body by simple diffusion, this is because of their large surface area to volume ratio (SA/V).
  TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN HIGHER ORGANISMS.
  Higher organisms develop structure for transportation
• because they have small surface area
• they have complex body and food have to travel a long distance.
• To link different parts of the body together. It is necessary to connect isolated groups of cell.
  MATERIALS FOR TRANSPORTATION
• Oxygen :it is produced in the lungs and transported to the various cells of the body for tissue respiration.
• carbon(iv)oxide is produced in the cells and transported to the lungs for excretion.
• urea is produced in the body cells and transported to the liver where it is removed.
• Hormones are produced in the endocrine gland from where it is transported to the target organ.
• Excess salts:it is produced in the cells and transported to the skin and kidney for excretion. Salts are removed through sweat by the skin etc.
• sugars:is the products of starch and carbohydrates digestion. It is produced in the ileum to the various cells of the body for tissue respiration.
• Vitamins:vitamins are produced in the small intestine and transported to the various cells of the body for use.
• Amino acids:these are products of protein digestion transported from small intestine to various cells.
• water:water is an excretory product, produced in the cells and transported to where it is excreted, such as kidney, skin, lungs and liver. And so many others like antibodies, fatty acids and glycerol and mineral salts.

MEDIA FOR TRANSPORTATION

1. Blood for higher organisms. Blood is a powerful medium of transportation of materials.

2. Water and cytoplasm in lower organisms. Like, amoeba, paramecium.

3. Lymph:it is a media of transportation in higher animals. It is a fluid similar in composition to tissue fluid, it contains extra lymphocytes, and no red cell present..

4. cell sap:it is a medium of transportation of materials in plants.

TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN MAN
Transport system in mammals mostly in man provides enough ways of distribution of materials within the human body. This is very possible by blood and Lymph which represent the media of transportation in man.

CONCLUSION
