Goodybest's Diary Friday, July 12th, 2024: Shopping And Saloon Stories.
Dear Diary,
Friday, July 12th, 2024 was a fun day for me and my little princess, Blessing. It was one of those days when I decided to pamper myself a bit and spend some quality time with my baby. I had some shopping to do, and I had also booked an appointment with my hairstylist to get our hair done, so we set out early in the morning to make the most of the day.
You know school runs are ongoing, so I woke up early to get my kids ready for school. I prepared delicious noodles for breakfast and packed the same for their lunch. My husband dropped off the kids at school while I showered and got ready to set out.
My husband drove us to the shopping mall first. We strolled around the mall, focusing mainly on the things we ran off which are beauty products like body creams, soap, powder, and baby wipes, among other things. My baby was having fun 😊!
My baby had a great time, and she was especially fond of the shopping experience, pointing her little fingers at different products and expressing her excitement, particularly when she reached the juice section where she picked out her favorite exotic juice!

After our shopping, my husband dropped us off at the hair salon nearby where I had booked an appointment to wash and style our hair. We first of all washed our hair since it had been 2 weeks since the last wash. I brought along my shampoo, conditioner, hair straightener, and coconut oil.
The hairstylist attended to my baby first before me. Keeping her occupied was a bit of a challenge, as she was unrest but I managed to calm and entertain her with some juice, nursery rhymes & cartoons on my phone. After her hair was done, she slept and I laid her down on a mat as I got my hair weaved, eyelashes put on, my brows shaped, and nails painted. Before leaving, I also had some of my wigs ironed at the salon, because that's what I will be using for the coming week.
After leaving the salon, I picked up my kids from school at 3 PM. At home, I showered and fed them before heading to my seamstress's workshop to pick up the dress I would be wearing to a wedding the next day. Unfortunately, she wasn't there, but she called me to wait for her. I used the waiting time to chat with my friends on the platform and, when she returned, I checked the dresses, they fitted me and left immediately as it was getting dark.
The day ended with a bit of ice cream, and for dinner, I prepared rice and stew, I had stew from the Fridge already. I allowed my kids to watch cartoons until 9 PM since the next day was Saturday, meaning no waking up early, and they were 😊. Later, I asked them to go to bed. I was exhausted but satisfied, knowing that I had accomplished everything I had planned for the day
In conclusion, our Friday outing was not only about shopping and hair care, but it was also an opportunity to bond, relax, and create memories. It reminded me of the importance of self-care, especially as a mother, and how simple things like a hairdo and cartoons can bring so much joy to a child's life. It was a day well spent, and I am already looking forward to the next one.
