MY WORST HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

INTRODUCTION TO MY SCHOOL

The name of my school is secondary commercial school ibekwe in ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. My school was outstanding because it was the only government school in that location and it also have a nickname "come as you like". We have the highest number of students and teachers and we also have good and well disciplined teachers.

WORST HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

Based on the nickname, "come as you like" students really come as they like, they were very stubborn with both the seniors in school and teachers even with the principal. The senior students bullies the junior students making them more stubborn and this was a continuous process.
This makes it difficult for the junior students to concentrate on their studies, some went as far as staying in the bush to escape beatings from the senior students.
Apart from that most of the work done in the school were done by the students, example clearing grass, farming etc, this makes them very strong and stubborn, almost everyday the school is always on commotion, fighting, beating, even to the point of beating teacher and even the principal if he misbehaves according to them.
It get to the point that the school authority almost lost control over the students they had to bring army to the school to take charge in disciplining any student caught fighting or any senior student caught bulling the junior student, and any student going against the school authority.
The worst of it all that was my concern was that of learning facilities,my school lack learning learning facilities and the little we manage to have which is donated by the government, it will be locked up, we will not be allowed to use it, reason being so that students will not spoil it, for example the computer and some textbooks.
The last but not the list, examination malpractice, it was compulsory for each student to engage in examination malpractice especially in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), whether you can write or not, you read or you didn't read, it was mandatory each student pay for examination malpractice and this make almost all the students feel reluctant about studying because they feel it is of no use to study because you are still going to pay for the examination malpractice, it was not easy for me but am happy I didn't allow myself to be molded by that awful experience, I stand out different from the others.

I learn that no matter the situation I found myself, that I can still come out different and be useful to my family and people as a whole.
