Introduction

Dear great citizens of our beloved country, let me start by saying a big "Thank You!" to all of you for giving me this enormous opportunity to lead our great nation. Indeed, feel overwhelmed by your massive support and vote of confidence in the policies I have formulated to take our beloved nation to unimaginable heights. I accept this position whole-heartedly and I assure you all that your trust is never misplaced.

As a president, I identify with you in all the challenges and pressing needs that have befallen our beloved country. I cannot wait to do something about them. I have identified 2 major areas that would need prompt attention. Hence, I would like to share with you how I plan to tackle these challenges. This is my Manifesto to you. The 2 major areas I will quickly address are:

• Youth unemployment
• Insecurity

Now, let me address each of these needs in Detail.

1. Youth Unemployment

The Problem

Global unemployment rates continue to soar everyday and our nation has a large share of this challenge. Many youths have graduated from various tertiary institutions in the country with the hope of landing their dream job. However, the reality is that there are very few well-paying jobs available for now.

According to a recent data, unemployment rates in the country has soared beyond 30% by the 4th quarter of 2022, and predicted to surpass 33% by the end of 2022. These figures are not just scary, but intimidating and requires prompt attention. That is why Unemployment is on top of my agenda for this new government. I have laid down workable plans to tackle this issue. I would like to share them with you.

My Solution

Here is how I hope to quickly tackle and effectively stop the unemployment issue in our country.

i. Revising the Education Curriculum: The education curriculum has been identified as a major cause of youth unemployment. The current curriculum places more emphasis on grades and less on skill acquisition. Students today in various tertiary institutions are trained to fight hard and pass with good grades as this is assumed to guarantee jobs after graduation. Unfortunately, this is misleading.

So I will appoint a new education minister and charge them with the responsibility of creating a new skill-based education curriculum. Students will be accessed and graded based on how much skill they have acquired and demonstrated. Students that are outstanding in their fields would receive more support to go higher and acquire more skills when they graduate or be supported in other ways. With an effective educational system, we will have graduates that can set up a small scale business and become employers of labor.

ii. Empowering Entrepreneurs: We can strengthen the economy and create more jobs by supporting entrepreneurs. My government will design an entrepreneurship support scheme that is both sustainable and effective. There are many graduates and other entrepreneurs that have the skills needed to run a profitable venture, but they lack the finances required to kick-off. So my Government will provide a scheme which will guarantee easy access to financial products for entrepreneurs. We will also provide capacity enhancement opportunities so that interested entrepreneurs can easily skill-up.

iii. Harnessing Blockchain Opportunities: My government will go beyond what is obtainable in the mainstream. We have seen the development of blockchains and related services and the many opportunities on offer. For example, we have heard about the Steem blockchain that rewards content writers and developers. We will key into such blockchain projects and expose youths to opportunities in the blockchain sector.

Cryptocurrency trading is another aspect of blockchains that we will explore. My government will design crypto-trading programs for non-graduates and graduates. This crypto education will enable youths to gain working knowledge that will assist them to join the crypto sector and gain its financial benefits.

2. Insecurity

The Problem

The problem of insecurity in our country is well pronounced. People are killed as they go to the market, attend a religious program, or even while resting in their houses. Banditry, kidnappings, bombings and indiscriminate killing of innocent citizens have left us all yearning for a safer place we can call home. I have seen the scale of the security situation in this country and I have designed policies and programs that will tackle insecurity to the grassroots. Let me share these with you.

My Solution

i. Tighten border security: I strongly believe that arms control and fighting insurgencies starts from our borders. Today, our borders are virtually open and unscrupulous elements come in and go out at ease. There is also the problem of illegal arms flow into the country. I strongly believe that a tighter border security will ensure that arms inflow into the country can only happen through official channels.

Insurgents and other criminals will find it difficult to get guns, bombs and other materials that they use in perpetuating crime if they cannot find loopholes in our borders.

ii. Install Security cameras in all public places: Developed nations are able to track criminals in real-time by being able to capture crime as it happens. This is only possible if a law requires security camera's to be installed in all public places and buildings. When criminals know that there are many watchful eyes seeing them, they are less likely to get involved in serious organized crime.

Just few days ago, armed gangs attacked a church and killed more than 50 worshippers. Until now, no one could trace them, and there is no single record of what really happened. A security camera anywhere around the church building or premises would have given a clue of who the criminals are and how they carried out the operation. This is a prime example. So I will make sure there are camera's installed in all public places, to help us fight crime and improve security.

iii. Train Security personnel and provide modern security tools: Our security personnel today lack the kind of training and equipment's needed to fight modern crime. That is the main reason they are easily overrun by criminals. My government will design a program where law enforcement agencies and personnel are periodically trained and equipped. Such trainings will feature modern and practical ways of fighting crime.

My government will also make sure that our security personnel have superior firepower. I will make sure the police and other security personnel have better guns, security cars and other armors. If our security personnel are properly trained and sufficiently equipped, they will be in a better position to fight and stop crime from happening. That is a way to improve the security situation in our country.

Conclusion

My beloved citizens, I have a lot to do for you. But I have just given you my detailed plan for solving the above two challenges. Other challenges that we face in this country will still be taken care of promptly. Gradually, we will make our country great again.
