Growing up in a Rural or Urban Area

In Week Three there was another interesting theme that I got in the Steem4Nigeria community, the theme is about urban and rural and this is quite interesting to me. The reason why this theme is interesting to me is, that I like to deliver learning materials at school. The teaching material I do at school is related to the theme that I will convey to all of you, hopefully, this post will be an interesting reading for all of you.

You all need to know that cities and villages are two important regions in a country because social and economic development is formed and created in these two places. The countryside tends to be a buffer for the supply of important needs found in cities and countries, while cities become an industrial buffer that is also beneficial to the development of the countryside and also the country. However, Rural and urban areas have big differences, three of which are based on social, physical, and also geography.

The three differences affect the circumstances and situations in the village and also in the city, but the dependence of life in the village and the city are always interrelated/connected. That is why cities and villages are the two most important areas of development in a country because the progress of a country starts from these two places.

Differentiate between urban and rural areas stating three major features

As I mentioned earlier, there are social, physical, and geographical differences between urban and rural areas. If you describe in detail the three differences, then this is my brief explanation :

1. Differences socially
This difference concerns many aspects of human life in the region, what is customary is usually the common thing they do.

In the village, the community still holds the values of the ancestors as customs that the village community continues to do, and culture becomes a valuable value for rural communities. Most of them still hold on to customary law as a way to resolve conflicts and problems in life. So that the community still adheres to customary norms in their interactions, family values are still a way for rural communities to live in close relationships so that they have a high social sense.

While in urban communities, socially the people have begun to abandon traditional things, and weak social relations make the crime rate grow in urban areas. Interaction is only limited to lifestyle in the world of work and others, social relations have gone towards a modern direction by leaving traditional things.

2. Physical Differences
This difference can be seen from the striking land governance, and it is very easy to identify to distinguish between the two.

In the village, the construction of houses is still using the old ways of the local community. Land management as part of the environment makes the countryside filled with agricultural land, plantations, and other identical things.

In the city, residential development prioritizes economy/income as the main thing. So that all urban physical forms have towering buildings, lifestyles affect land governance for economic value with less and less green land.

Geographical Differences
This geographical difference is the completeness of everything that is related to the environment, ranging from the state of the soil/land, and the diversity of living habitats to the climate or air found in these two places.

In the countryside, there are many diverse living ecologies due to the environment/original land that is still fairly extensive. However, climate and weather conditions that are sometimes unpredictable, can cause bad influences from geography can occur.

Meanwhile, in the city, the influence of the decreasing land makes the ecology of the variety of life other than humans also reduced even absent all. Not to mention the impact of transportation technology that makes temperature and air problems for urban life.

Which area did you grow up and why?

Everyone will inhabit and occupy certain areas around the world, some of which are from rural and urban areas. I am also an Indonesian citizen, raised in Indonesia. I was born in a rural area that is now part of the urban area when reviewed by the regional administration. The city is named Lhokseumawe City or the 3rd most developed area in the Indonesian province of Aceh. There is no reason why I grew up in this area, because I come from this area.

If you were told to go to the area you didn't grow up from, will you

Nothing is so different when we talk about our own country, because of the local wisdom that we have spread throughout Indonesia. To live and go to a place that is not where I grew up, is not so difficult. The character of the community is almost the same, becoming its own convenience.

What things are there in the area you grew up from that aren't in the other?

Almost everything in the place where I was born there is also in other regions or other countries, but some traditions that reflect us as an area based on Islamic Sharia law may be only a few who have it. But in general, almost all regions in Indonesia have their local wisdom that characterizes a region, so this becomes a cultural wealth that we have in addition to natural wealth of course.

I invited Mr. @ radjasalman, Mr. @alee75, and @lil.Albus, greetings to you all.

Hello dear friend, I agree hundred percent with your post, despite the difference between rural and urban areas, both are dependent on each other and the development of these two areas leads to the development of the country, where industrial development takes place in the urban areas, while farming takes place in the rural areas. At the same time, there are immense possibilities for spiritual development. I enjoyed reading your post. Good luck with the engagement

The urban area adapts to new systems of life, while the rural areas do still hold on to some customary or traditional activities. There should always be that balance...a set of people who still hold the cultural heritage. The Urban and the rural areas are very important to balance a settlement. You've written well pertaining to this topic, goodluck.

Hello @fabtvwiki

I enjoyed going through your content.

I also agree with you that when looking at the difference between rural and urban, we would consider the physical differences.
