Contest greetings to you all my fellow contestants it a pleasure to contest with you guys. Reporting an event around the world makes people knew about what is going on in different communities or location. In different places there are different cultures that is the way of life the those people,so if someone have an opportunity to witness such places, you find out that there are things ride home about. So this contest title is a very good one,so I most appreciate @xkool24 for always making us showcase our happening in every week, Ky Report will be on the culture of Abiakpo Ikot Out Village in Obot Akara LGA Akwa Ibom State Nigeria. So I welcome you all to my blog.

It was no longer news to the Neighborhood Watch Reporter @etette about the traditional way of how Abiakpo Ikot Out Village in Obot Akara Local Government Area are doing their thing during funeral occasion. In Saturday as Neighborhood Watch Reporter #etette witness and pick full coverage of how the traditions are being done before someone is buried, how the children are doing with the culture of their land. Though it is their way of life but it looks like sacrifice.

It was confirmed by me that before someone will be buried,all the children will come out and meet with the family Elders,No live animal can be slaughter if that is not done first. So at this point, the first born child (Male) will stand in for others siblings and do perform the norms. This will involve a live He goat and Hot drink.

This was how they act was carried out by the children directed by the Elders and the Kings men.

To me it was like a joke until when the Main thing was done slaughtering of the live he goat. They were doing it one after the other until all the children does it and even in-laws were also involved in this act.

This was done some meters from the compound in the backyard ,the Elderly men were those that performed the final stage. At this point,the camera was not allowed to take coverage of what is going on there.

When questions were thrown to some people about what is the significance of this culture in the community. One of the son, told the Neighborhood Watch Reporter @etette that one of the significant is that

• To avoid untimely dead in the family, because if they have done it for the father, they most done it for the mother.
• It also shows a traditional responsibility and respect the children give to their departed ones.
• Doing this will beings blessings to them.

The event was a unique one because people come from different villages to witness how it is being done and to see it is done properly.
