Salutation Steemians,I like to report on the situation events happening around the area I visited this week. In Akwa Ibom State Nigerian, there's was a lot of boundary dispute since the coming of democracy in Nigeria.
A lot of people have leave thier homes because of insecurity cause by gunmen in the riverine area, there are many effect cause by this act from this unknown gunmen in that area ,so things have changed .
All so it affect the economic growth of this area.
My article today,i will specific some of challenges and changes in the area.

The insecurity situation in Itu Akwa Ibom State Nigeria,,is very worrisome that people could not even leave in their home any longer, and also going out for their normal farm work and fishing occupation become a serious problem.
People can not have their peace of mind because of this and their health is also affected couple with the high cost of living.the prices of things are skyrocketing because salers.dont go around the area to make sales.
Households and their heads are feeding ol on individuals donations either materials or cash, school children are affected because the only primary school is affected and the adults are crying for help from government or NGO because of their age.
The worse situation is the gun men normally attractk them at night disturbing the area every time.

They gunmen will come in by night and either kidnapped members of the community or go away with their fishing materials which is the major occupation of the people here. Items like speed boat, fishing net, even the fish they have catch, they also harvest their farm produces which the women do farm. The bone of contention is that the occupances are occuping their land whereas it not so. The people hearts were not at peace when the gunmen break into the riverine community by night, around 12pm ,many were asleep, while fishermen where doing thier normal fishing business in the river,I was with any uncle that I visited , I had a sound of gunshots and it have heavy sounds like conventional guns use by the ARMY and my uncle said "these people have come again" , but he told me to relaxed and feel free.

Personally, I was unable to sleep again,so weheard voices of people shouting help us ! help us! , My uncle said they have attacked the fishermen on the river, so every body were not asleep any more, People we're confused of what to do, we started parking some of our belongings and others people were running and the greatest fear was it happened in night which is dark and confusion of where to go was the major challenge. we are confused about where to go, and there were still shots in the air that causes more fear.

This attacked had been happening in this area for many years back but the recent attractk have caused a lot of damages and also claim lives, destroying of farm produces . The gunmen were keep firing the gun on air, and people try to call on the neighboring Community for assistant, but they were not able to assist us then because of the gun shot.

Some of fishermen have their way back under the pressure, and it was reported to the police, but they didn't show up immediately, it was in the morning that police and Army came to rescue us,a lot of property have been destroyed and aged People bean rush to hospital because of shock from the gun shot. Government do assist to handle the treatment of any causalities cause by this occurrence and also regret about what happened and warned those behind it to refrain from it. Some of the fishermen were been rescue in the morning and some missing

I always heard about gunmen attractk in the riverine area and boundary despute in villages ,attacking people and go way with thier belogings , It was my first time of witnessing it as visit my uncle . This have make the economy situation of the area to drop to 90% because nothing is going on economically and otherwise. I pray government should sent security agency and also release releaf materials to the people living here.
