It is a culture in our locality Ikot Antuen Itu Akwa Ibom State Nigeria, that we normally celebrate the New year in a colorful and attractive way, The 31th December is always a cross over night for everyone Christians and even Non christians to thank God for keeping them through the year from January to December which is the last month of the year. So it was a joyous Celebration and a Thanksgiving night in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Ikot Antuen Central Church Itu Akwa Ibom State Nigeria as members and non members come together thanking God in one accord for his marvellous love towards them.

It was a great night of thanksgiving and acknowledging God in the New year 2024. How ever the church members were testifying the goodness of God in their lives and also friends and love ones.

Another interesting Event in my enveroment was the community women, coming out in their numbers rejoice and thank God for keeping them alive even with the daily challenges through out the year, they were so greateful and what really shocked me in their Celebration was that the men when seeing their wives celebrting they also joined them in the Joy, so the event became a serious seat together that drawn up the attention of people from far and near. It was a pleasure to some personalities to meet with their long time friends.

It was a shock to me @etette witnessing how the community consult their ancestors about the new year, by burning 🔥 a live goat to hashes, we the Neighborhood Watch Reporter @etette ask someone about this activity, he replied that this is the way they normally do it, that it is the way they consult the God's of the land.
So I was live seeing this, and at this point no woman is found there and even the people left the place till the whole 🔥 fire burn.
I was standing a far to pick the photograph of this wonderful event.
