The diary game|30th November 2024|The long awaited Day/The steeemians National meetup

The more it went, the busier it became in the kitchen. We went up and down and across, passing on utensils and ingredients, rectifying this and adjusting that. We prepared both traditional and modern recipes, each dish tastier than the other. After some hours of hard work, finally, it was ready.

We set the table and served the meal to all those present who came to help us. The food was great, and we all had a blast. Times well spent were times spent together in merriment.

Getting Ready for the Meetup

Immediately after lunch, now it was time to get ready for the main event—Steemians meetup. I drove back home with @kidi40 and @alli001 just to freshen up. We had been talking about the whole morning activity and how we have been having fun. I opted to take a little nap once I arrived home. I set my alarm to ring at 1:30 pm so that I could get just about enough rest before the meeting.

I woke up fresh with the alarm and got myself ready for the day. I got dressed, putting on comfortable clothes suitable for the event. I checked to see that everything was in order and set out. The meetup ground was not too far from my house, so I walked, enjoying the afternoon breeze.

Arrival at Meetup Ground

I reached the meetup ground at 2:20 PM, which was much later than I had actually planned. Surprise-surprise, nobody else was there yet. By that time, I'd begun to feel that this was not going to take place at all. There was no soul in sight, and already past time it was. Well, I made the most of the situation and started arranging the chairs and tables.

I wanted to have everything ready for whenever the others arrived.

I kept looking at my watch as I was setting up, really just hoping people would come along. After about thirty minutes, I finally started to see some familiar faces. People started trickling in one by one. Each greeting of a Steemian brought much joy into my heart. So relieved to see the attendees and more importantly, knowing this meetup was going to be real.

Setting Up the Event

As more people were arriving, we immediately set up the rest of the event. I helped bring out the generator and set up the sound system and microphones. We wanted to make sure that everything was prepared for presentations and activities that were planned to take place that day. As more Steemians continued to join us, there was a buzz of excitement in the air.

We had the drinks arranged on the high table for our handsome Steem for Nigerians and Steemkids admins and moderators. This included @goodybest, @eveetim, @ninanepa, @benton3, @ngoenyi, @eliany, @xkool24, @sahmie, and @bonaventure24,@okere-blessing. People were very anxious to kick off the event and share experiences of Stemit.

The Event Begins

The event was kicked off with the presentation about Steemit and why we chose it by @ngoenyi. She talked passionately about this platform, how it brought them together; that moved everybody and a sense of belongingness and community got strong. It was really encouraging when one hears all the positivity steemit has caused in our life. @xkool24, @goodybest, and @Benton3 discuss and explain much about the steemit Platform, which really helps all of us, especially the newbies.

After the introduction, various presentations and discussions were done. Many Steemians shared their stories and experiences that were highly beneficial for them through membership in the Steemit community. We came to know about new features, tips for creating content in an engaging way, and ways to grow on the platform. Discussions were interactive because each one of us was able to ask questions and share our thoughts. Foods and drinks were shared to All.

Gifts from @bossj23

Now it was time to share gifts donated by @bossj23, who had picked selected Steemians; of course, I was one. Different gifts were shared out, and we all left happy and glad; kudos to @bossj23 for the gifts as it would be in stock in our heart.

Capturing Memories

We had to take a few minutes around the time of sunset for beautiful, unforgettable photos. We wanted a lot of memories of this special day. We took pictures with the group, individual selfies, and candid photos. Pictures look way more amazing with golden hour light. We laughed together, making sure everybody got each other.

Evening Fun

And it wasn't over after the sun was set. The evening was all full of fun, music, and lots of photo shooting. We exchanged our best moments from that day and told each other how happy we felt to be part of this fantastic community. For sure, without any doubt, those are Steemians who will make the event more than memorable.

Finally, it was time to bring the meetup to a close. We started packing up our equipment and cleaning up around us. People were surprisingly upbeat despite the really long day. We said our goodbyes and promised to remain in touch. So satisfied, with deep happiness inside, I felt while recollections of the day flashed across my mind.
But before we go we had to dance small to complete the vibes.

Strolling Out for Evening Vibes

After the meetup, I went out with @bonaventure, @sahmie, @alli001, and @kidi40 to feel the evening vibes. We decided to take a stroll and soak in the atmosphere. The streets were alive, and we could hear music and laughter everywhere around us. We stopped at a local vendor and bought some suya meat. The spicy, grilled meat was delicious, and we savored every piece.

We found a comfortable spot to sit down and have something to eat. While we were eating, we discussed what was enjoyed most about the day and other future plans. It was quite a soothing and nice way to culminate such a day. I felt good about my friends and relationships forged and the memories created.

Heading Home

As the night wore on, I began to feel drowsy. I felt it was about time to go back home and rest. I said my goodbyes to my friends and went my way. The walk back home was tranquil; I had time to reflect on how great the day was that I had spent. I felt a deep sense of satisfaction and happiness.

Reflecting on the Day

While getting home, I sat for some time and reflected on the day. Right from the morning exercise, cooking, meet-up, to the evening stroll, every moment was filled with so much fun and camaraderie. I felt blessed to be part of such a helping and vibrant community. In itself, the Steemians meet up was a big event and a celebration of friendship and togetherness in all ways.

Meeting Steemian Legends

That was one of my best moments today, getting to meet some of the Steemian legends like @ngoenyi no other coach than her, @bonaventure24 @xkool24, @sahmie, and @goodybest, @ruthjoe,@eliany,@okere-blessing,and friends like @preshy001,@misseyleo@nsijoro,@johnmitchel,@imohmitch,@us-andrew,@basil20,@ubikool🤗etc. They had been an inspiration within the Steemit community, and it was such an honor for me meeting them face to face. Listening to their stories and experiences, I couldn't help but feel motivated enough to continue my journey within Steemit.

Praying for Safe Journeys

With this, the day got over, but not without praying for a safe journey for all the Steemians that came to attend the meetups. Hope everybody will reach home safely and keep in touch always with one another, continuing the unity that was shared. Truly a pleasing moment of oneness.

Summary of the long awaited Day

I had a great day at the Steemians meetup. Thoe I missed @saintkelvin17,the next meetup will be hot I hope you will be there ,it will be hot🤗. It's just an amusing-filled day, starting with having a little exercise and moving down to cooking and eating together. Events happened a bit on some schedules down; it was totally worth the while. We did fix up the place together, welcoming all guests superbly inside. Night came accompanied by noise with laughters and snapshotting, nice tastes of suya meat around, meeting Steemian legend. I went to bed that night happy and grateful.*
