Hello steemians and members of the @steem4nigeria community. it is indeed a love day yet again and I am very happy to be here today. This is my very first post in this community and all thanks to the Steemit engagement challenge that is in its 2nd season and week two. Today the topic up for discussion is a rather interesting one which is to talk about our countries. As rightly said in the contest post, no matter how bad our countries are, we are still deeply in love with them. I will talk about my country Cameroon in this post.

1- A brief introduction about my country.

Cameroon is a country in the African continent, Central Africa to be precise. It is bordered by Nigeria, Chad, Equatorial Guinea. Cameroon has a total population of about 25 million persons. The country is divided into 10 regions govern by a Governor in this case appointed by the president of the country unlike other countries where governors are elected. The official languages spoken are English and French which stems from the annexation by two colonial master that is France and Britain. The country was divided after the defeat of Germany in world war 2. Cameroon has great things that I will be discussing in this post in details.

2- The great things that interest me about my country.

1. Bilingual. The first thing that Is great about my country is that my country is bilingual. As I earlier mentioned, it is an inheritage from our colonial masters. We speak the two most used language in the world, English and French. We are the two countries with this attribute, the other country being Canada.

2. Africa Miniature. Another thing I am proud about my country is that it is Africa miniature. Africa miniature means everything from natural resources that can be seen in Africa is found in Cameroon. From natural resources like Lakes, waterfall, beach, oil, forest and down to culture. This makes my country unique.

3. Diversity. Another great thing is diversity. As I did mention above, Cameroon is divided into 10 regions and these regions are further divided into divisions and villages. Cameroon has over 250 villages and these villages have different dialects and culture. This is great because every bit of culture can be seen in Cameroon.

4. Hospitality. My country Cameroon is a very hospital country. The people are very welcoming and loving. This explains the influx of refugees and tourist before the current Anglophone crisis.

5. Food. I cannot end this section without talking about the food of Cameroon. I believe we not only has beautiful dishes but the best in Africa like Ekwang, Eru and water fufu, Achu etc. These are food unique only to Cameroon and they are beautiful.

3- The things mentioned above that I prefer my country over other countries.

To be sincere almost everything I mentioned above is a reason I prefer my country to any other country in the world but I have three things that I like and prefer much

• Bilingual. This is a very huge characteristic of my country. Being bilingual, learning ad speaking the two most used language in the world is a great opportunity as a Cameroon. it puts Cameroonians at a vantage point in the world.
• Food/Dishes. As I did mention above, Cameroon has the most beautiful dishes in all of Africa. I don’t know how I can live in any other place with eating Fufu and Kati or water fufu and eru etc. So the dishes are one of the things I prefer my country to other country. Hospitality. It’s not every country that is hospitable. I think I prefer my country due to this.

4- No place like home, if you eventually leave your country in search of greener pastures, would you be willing to come back because of your responses in (3).

YES. This is a very big yes for me. I know my country is not one of the best countries in the world or even in Africa but I love it regardless. I will always love to come back to my country for the above mentioned reasons. Especially because of the dishes offered in my country.

CONCLUSION

As can be seen from my post, my country Cameroon is richly blessed with natural resources and sceneries. It is a lovely country though like every other country it has its own vices but then at the emd of the day I do love my country deeply and will lovely love to be back.I want to thank the moderators of the Steem Nigeria community for such a lovely contest. It was great participating in a contest like this.
