SeeSEC15 WK3: "Growing up in a Rural or Urban Area"
Greetings everyone. How are we all doing today? Am going to be partaking in the contest "growing up in a rural or urban area". please come with me on this journey as we explore what urban and rural areas entails.
Urban areas refers to cities, towns and subsurb. While rural areas usually relates to villages. Am going to be highlighting three major difference between urban and rural areas.
- Urban areas are usually more development than rural areas. They have more access to infrastructures like railways, airplanes, roads etc. While rural areas generally do not have much development in terms of infrastructures.
- Urban areas are heavily populated while rural areas are scantily populated.
- Urban areas usually have high level of pollution ranging from air pollution, water pollution, land pollution etc. due to high population. While rural areas have lesser pollution due to lesser industries, lesser vehicles and lower population.
I grew up in the rural areas. My parents lived there and i spent a good number of years there as a child. As a child i enjoyed the simplicity of my environment. The love between members of the community. No pressure, everyone just living life one day at a time.
If i was told to go to the Urban area i will. It will be an opportunity to experience life from another aspect and change is something that is not always easy. But sometimes it's good to come out from what will know and experience new things. It might not be easy at first but there's no growth without pressure. Coming out from my comfort zone to experience something different will be a wonderful experience because i will learn new things and become more knowledgeable.
There are alot of things available in the rural area where i grew up that are not in the urban area. First of all everyone looked out for each other and was always willing to help, but in the urban area it mostly mind your business lifestyle. The kids in the rural area had opportunity to play and really interact with other kids, childhood was memorable for me but in the urban area everyone keep to themselves locked up in a fenced house.
In the rural areas children are trained to fit into the harsh realities of life as a young girl i could farm and do jobs that fetched me money those experiences helped in building me. But in the urban areas such opportunities are not available to children. And schools usually is a safe heaven from reality.
